Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Oklahoma provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Garfield County (Oklahoma) Assessor: 100% Disabled Veteran Exemption and Homestead

HousingGarfield County, OK · County

The Garfield County Assessor, Darla Dickson, 114 West Broadway, Room 106, Enid (580-237-0220), takes the State's exemption of the whole home and household goods for a veteran rated 100% permanently disabled from service, and for the surviving spouse, with the VA's letter; the ordinary homestead application is due by March 15, and the office says an Oklahoma citizen stationed elsewhere may keep the homestead.

100% schedular rating, permanent. One path is a 100% combined rating that VA has made permanent.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.

VetTOC has not written a veterans service office for Garfield County yet. The state’s service offices below serve it.

Oklahoma Veterans Registry and Veterans Service Representatives

Registering with the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs is voluntary, but since November 1, 2020 it has been required before almost any state benefit: the sales tax card, the vehicle excise exemption, the free driver licence, the veteran designation, disabled veteran hunting and fishing licences and the $5 plate. The department's service representatives help with VA claims and state benefit letters at no charge.
