Where it applies

Three sections of the Wildlife Conservation Code, each requiring registration with the Veterans Registry. Sixty percent: no annual licences. Title 29, section 4-110, subsection C, paragraph 3 exempts "legal resident veterans having a disability of sixty percent (60%) or more" from the annual fishing licence, and section 4-112 exempts the same veterans from the annual hunting licence. The sections say "disability" without "service-connected"; the Wildlife Department asks for the VA award letter. The lifetime licence. Section 4-114, subsection C lets a resident "disabled veteran" buy a disability lifetime combination hunting and fishing licence for "Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for veterans having a disability of less than sixty percent (60%)" and "Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) for veterans having a disability of sixty percent (60%) or more", against $1,024 for the ordinary lifetime combination licence. The Wildlife Department's information sheet says the lifetime hunting licence also covers the waterfowl stamp, the Wildlife Conservation Passport, deer, elk, antelope and turkey licences and controlled hunt permits, but not a bear licence, the HIP permit, federal stamps or a land access permit for designated areas. It requires six months of residence, and the licence stays good if you later move away. One hundred percent: deer licences. Section 4-112 exempts residents "certified... that the person is a disabled veteran in receipt of compensation at the one-hundred- percent rate" from the $35 resident deer gun, deer archery and primitive firearms licences. Where descriptions differ. The veterans agency's benefits page and the Army benefits library both say the 60 percent veteran is exempt from the "Wildlife Land Stamp". The Wildlife Department's lifetime licence sheet says a land access permit is still required for designated areas; check the current regulations before relying on either. Other veteran provisions. Section 4-113.2 lets a landowner with 200 acres or more buy a three-day permit under which veterans may hunt and fish on the land without licences. Section 5-203.2 allows a veteran rated 100 percent to use a laser sight. Apply for the veteran licences through the department's online application or the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs hunting and fishing form.
