Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Eighth Judicial Circuit: Transfer to the Alachua County Veterans Treatment Court (Levy County cases)

MiscellaneousLevy County, FL · County

The Eighth Judicial Circuit's Veterans Treatment Court sits in Alachua County only; its Administrative Order 4.18 lets an eligible veteran or service member with a case in another county, such as Levy, transfer it there under section 910.035 with the parties' agreement and the veterans court judge's acceptance.

Justice-involved veteran or service member. For a veteran or service member with a Levy County criminal case who qualifies for the veterans treatment court and whose transfer the parties agree and the court accepts. A disability rating is not the test.

Levy County Blue Springs and Henry Beck Parks: Half-Price Admission for Military

MiscellaneousLevy County, FL · County

Levy County's two spring parks, Blue Springs near Bronson and Henry Beck Park in Gulf Hammock, charge $2.00 a person and half price for seniors and military; the county's pages do not say whether a veteran counts as military, so a veteran should ask at the gate. Both are open April through September.

Military; veterans should ask. Half-price admission for military; the pages do not say whether veterans qualify. No rating is needed.

Levy County Property Appraiser: Veteran Exemptions

HousingLevy County, FL · County

Levy County's Property Appraiser lists the $5,000 exemption for a veteran disabled 10% or more, the total exemption for an honorably discharged veteran with a service-connected total and permanent disability, and the 65-plus combat-related discount, filed January 1 to March 1; its pages add a Florida-residence-at-enlistment test to the discount that section 196.082 does not set, and do not list the wheelchair veteran or deployment exemptions.

10% for the $5,000 exemption; total and permanent for the full exemption. The $5,000 exemption starts at a 10% service-connected disability. The full exemption needs a service-connected total and permanent disability and an honorable discharge. The 65-plus discount equals the combat-related percentage.

Levy County: No County Local Business Tax to Exempt

Education & EmploymentLevy County, FL · County

The Levy County Code carries no local business tax, and the Tax Collector's site lists no business tax service, so a veteran opening a business in unincorporated Levy County owes the county no business tax and needs no exemption; a city inside the county that levies one applies section 205.055.

No county business tax; statute applies where a city levies one. Levy County levies no local business tax, so no veteran exemption is needed at the county level. Any city tax follows section 205.055: honorable discharge, or a listed spouse.
