Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Florida Park Service issues a free lifetime military entrance pass to an honorably discharged veteran with a service-connected disability. The pass provides the same entry as the family annual entrance pass. A surviving spouse or parent of a service member who died in combat can receive the same lifetime pass. Any service-connected disability qualifies. The published proof is personal identification, current documentation of the service-connected disability from Defense, Homeland Security, or VA, and an honorable DD-214 or other official proof of veteran or retired status. A Florida driver license or identification card with the V designation can serve as the veteran proof. Active duty members, and honorably discharged veterans who do not have a service-connected disability, get a 25% discount on an annual entrance pass instead of the free lifetime pass. Discounted and free passes are issued in person at a state park with a staffed ranger station. They are not sold online or by mail. The lifetime pass can carry an expiration date of up to five years and is replaced in person. A separate 50% discount on the base camping fee is available to a Florida resident who is 65 or older, or who has a current Social Security disability award or a 100% disability award from the federal government. The park fee page lists a VA summary of benefits, a Florida disabled-veteran identification card, and the commissions persons-with-disabilities license among the disability documents. The discount applies to the campsite that person occupies. A disabled parking placard alone does not waive the entrance fee.
