Florida's counties may run veteran service offices under chapter 292; see the Florida entry. Levy County's, in its Community Services Department, "assists Veterans, their survivors, and dependents in navigating the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) system and accessing benefits earned through military service. We provide free, accredited guidance and assistance with VA-related matters and serve as a local resource for Veterans throughout Levy County." Where and when. 310 School Street, Suite 112, Bronson, FL 32621; phone 352-914-7192, fax 352-486-3329, [email protected]. "Walk-ins are welcome on Mondays and Wednesdays between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. The office's quarterly reports say its officer was assigned to Veterans Services on February 27, 2026 in a support role and took full responsibility on April 20, 2026. The report for April to June reads "Unfortunately I am still waiting on my accreditation number, and cannot legally file a claim for a Veteran", and the report for July to September records the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs accreditation in July, 107 veterans served and 17 claims filed. The same office runs the county's SHIP housing assistance, and the Board's August 25, 2026 agenda proposed the Community Services Coordinator as its representative on the North Central Florida Homeless Continuum of Care's Leadership Council. The 2026-27 budget reduces Veterans Services from 2.00 to 1.00 positions and from $93,447 to $88,400. The county's Human Resources office planned a Levy County Veterans Resource Fair on November 3, 2026 with EmployU and CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion for employment resources; ask the office for its place and time.
