Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Florida provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Brevard County Property Appraiser: Veteran Exemptions, the Combat Discount and the Deployment Exemption

HousingBrevard County, FL · County

How the Brevard County Property Appraiser describes Florida's veteran property tax relief, and where it is narrower than the statutes or out of date: it asks for proof that at least 10% of a disability is combat related, which section 196.082 does not require, and its list of operations for the deployment exemption leaves out the five that chapter 2026-239 added for the 2026 roll.

10% for the $5,000 exemption; permanent and total for the full one. The $5,000 exemption starts at 10%. The full homestead exemption needs total and permanent disability. The combat discount needs age 65, an honorable discharge and a permanent rating with a combat-related part.

Brevard County Veterans Treatment Court

MiscellaneousBrevard County, FL · County

The Eighteenth Judicial Circuit's Brevard County Veterans Treatment Court takes people who served, and Defense contractors, whose substance abuse, mental health condition or brain injury is related to service, in three phases that often last about a year. The circuit says the State Attorney decides eligibility and admission; the statute gives that decision to the court and its team.
