How Brunswick County runs the State's $45,000 disabled veteran homestead exclusion: the Tax Office's page states every statutory route, and the county veterans office takes the application, asking for VA documents dated within the past year showing the permanent and total rating or a Dependency and Indemnity Compensation award. The veterans office page leaves out the adapted housing route.
Permanent and total service-connected disability. The rating path is VA's certification of a permanent and total service-connected disability, as of January 1. A section 2101 adapted housing grant qualifies instead, and an unremarried surviving spouse qualifies on any of the veteran's routes or a service-connected death; the rating filter cannot test those.
Bryan County's Tax Assessor lists the State's disabled veteran homestead exemption and sends applicants to the Tax Commissioner's office in Pembroke or Richmond Hill (912-653-3880); its page still gives the 2024 amount, $117,014, where the State's figure for tax year 2026 is $126,526, and names no rating test.
100% service-connected. A VA rating of 100%, or the unemployability route below, or the statutory loss of limbs or sight; unremarried surviving spouses keep it.
Bucks County's Department of Veterans Affairs takes applications for Pennsylvania's full real estate tax exemption. Its page asks for a 100% permanent and total rating, leaving out unemployability, blindness, paraplegia and the loss of two limbs, and misprints the income figure as $114,647; the State figure is $114,637.
100% permanent, on one path. One path is a VA rating of 100% made permanent. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because the statute also opens on blindness, paraplegia or the loss of two limbs at any rating.
The Bullitt County PVA, 149 North Walnut Street, Shepherdsville (502-543-7480), takes the homestead exemption for an owner classified totally disabled by a federal programme, the VA included, on Form 62A350 or a paperless form in its property search; its page still gives the 2023-2024 amount and says proof is due every year, while the statute spares a service-connected totally disabled veteran the yearly filing.
Classified totally disabled by a federal programme, including the VA. The applicant must be classified totally disabled for the whole year and receive disability payments under that classification. A VA total rating or individual unemployability counts; a partial rating does not.
How Buncombe County describes the State's $45,000 disabled veteran homestead exclusion: its own veteran exclusion application with the State's NCDVA-9, by June 1. The page cites the statute by a wrong number, never mentions the adapted housing grant, the discharge test or a spouse's service-connected death route, and sends applicants to a "Division of Veterans Affairs" number that is the county's own veterans office.
Burke County's Tax Administration takes the State's disabled veteran exclusion - the first $45,000 of the home's appraised value, no income test - on the combined homestead application with the Certification of Disabled Veteran's form, mailed or brought in (not emailed); its page describes the veteran as "100% totally disabled", where the statute asks for a total and permanent service-connected disability.
Service-connected, permanent and total disability. The certification records a total and permanent service-connected disability or 38 U.S.C. 2101 benefits; the county page says "100% totally disabled." No income or age test applies.
Burleigh County takes the state disabled veteran property tax credit application through Tax Equalization, whose director signs the approval block, and the commission approves the credits year round as routine abatement items.
The credit follows the state gate: 50 percent or more, or the unemployability route. Section 57-02-08.8 requires a service-connected disability of fifty percent or greater, or an extra-schedular rating to include individual unemployability paid at the one hundred percent rate. The county intake applies the state rule.
Burlington’s assessor posts a local additional veterans’ application and the state M-59a without amounts, and OLR’s survey recorded a $20,000 local option at a $63,490 income.
Wartime service or a VA rating, set by state law. The exemptions rest on C.G.S. 12-81(19) to (26): 90 days of wartime service with a qualifying discharge filed with the town clerk, or a VA disability rating. Amounts above the base turn on rating and income. The rating filter does not hide this entry.
Burlington’s fiscal 2027 chart prints the statutes doubled: $800 under clause 22, $1,500 under 22A and $2,000 for a 100 percent rating under 22E, with full exemption under 22D and a 22F row for a paraplegic veteran listed without an amount.
A VA rating, a decoration, or a surviving relative. Clause 22 reaches a veteran rated 10 percent or more, a Purple Heart recipient, a Gold Star parent and the spouse or unmarried surviving spouse; 22A to 22E turn on named losses, decorations, a 100 percent rating or specially adapted housing. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.
Burnet Central Appraisal District (312 North Pierce Street, Burnet, 512-756-8291) appraises for every taxing unit in the county and carries the State's Disabled Veteran's Exemption on its Forms page - the Comptroller's 50-135, filed with the district in each county where the property sits; the county Tax Office publishes no exemption text of its own, so the amounts rest on the State entries.
10% or more for the partial exemption. Tax Code 11.22 by rating from 10%; the whole homestead at 100% or unemployability under 11.131.
Burrillville’s veterans’ property tax exemptions under R.I. Gen. Laws 44-3-4, with the statutory figures for Burrillville and the day each was read. Confirm the current amount with the assessor.
Service and discharge set by state law. A veteran of a war, conflict or Cold War service period named in 44-3-4 or 44-3-4.2, honorably discharged, discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, or still serving honorably; or the unmarried widow or widower. No disability rating is needed for the basic exemption, so the rating filter never hides this entry.
Butler County doubled every homestead credit, the disabled veteran's included, for tax year 2025 and did not renew it for 2026. New applicants must file by October 23, 2026 to share in the State's one-time 2026 relief. The Auditor's page leaves out the unemployability route and still gives the 2025 figure.
100% service-connected. A total rating of 100% for service-connected disability, or compensation at 100% for individual unemployability.
The Butte County Assessor takes the State exemption for a veteran rated 100% or paid at 100% for unemployability, blind in both eyes or without the use of more than one limb, and for qualifying unmarried surviving spouses; a late claim for the year may be filed until December 10. Its pages give no amounts and do not mention the 2027 change.
100% or compensated at 100% for unemployability. The State exemption needs a 100% rating, permanent or not, compensation at 100% for unemployability, blindness in both eyes, or loss of the use of two or more limbs.
How Cabarrus County runs the State's $45,000 disabled veteran homestead exclusion: an application between January 1 and June 1, with the VA's certification, to the Tax Office in Concord. The tax page gives the rating and adapted housing routes but not a surviving spouse's route through a service-connected death; the veterans office's page adds an honorable discharge test.
Permanent and total service-connected disability. The rating path is VA's certification of a total and permanent service-connected disability. A section 2101 adapted housing grant qualifies instead, and an unremarried surviving spouse qualifies on the veteran's routes or a service-connected death; the rating filter cannot test those.
The Cabell County Assessor takes homestead applications July 1 to December 1, accepts a VA award letter as disability proof, calls the signing-up a one-time event, and files online through the state SmartFile portal.
Age 65 or older, or certified permanently and totally disabled. Code 11-6B-3 grants the exemption to an owner sixty-five or older or certified permanently and totally disabled; the assessor accepts a VA award letter as the certification.
Cache County's Tax Administration, 179 North Main, Suite 112, Logan (435-755-1706), takes the veteran with a disability exemption under Utah Code 59-2a-501 and 502 on form PT-025, the vehicle abatement on PT-032 and a supplemental affidavit for an unmarried surviving spouse or minor orphan of a deceased veteran; no annual filing is required.
10% to 100% service-connected. Utah Code 59-2a-501 and 59-2a-502: the exemption starts at a 10 percent service-connected rating and scales with it; an unmarried surviving spouse or minor orphan of a deceased veteran files the county supplemental affidavit. No income test on the veteran.
The Caddo Parish Assessor’s FAQ sets the veteran routes: a VA form stating 100% disability opens up to $75,000 of additional homestead, and a 50% service-connected disabled veteran can freeze the assessed value by applying each year.
100% for the additional homestead; 50% for the freeze. A VA form stating 100% service-connected disability qualifies the owner for up to $75,000 of additional homestead. A 50% service-connected rating qualifies the owner for the special assessment level freeze, applied for each year.
Cadets for Vets is Cameron County's programme in which “At Promise Youth” build new homes gifted to honourable-discharge veterans, through a partnership of Brownsville Affordable Homeownership, San Benito CISD, the county's Veteran's Services and its Juvenile Justice Department; apply through the Veterans Services Office.
Honourably discharged veteran who owns a property for a frame home. The flyer takes veterans from the Armed Forces with honourable discharges who own the property the home will sit on. No rating is needed.
A home loan the state originates and services itself, for a home in California, open after 90 days of active duty (not training) with a discharge under honorable conditions and no prior California residency requirement; manually underwritten with no minimum credit score, and CalVet keeps the servicing for the life of the loan.
90 days of active duty and a discharge under honorable conditions. Any rating, including none, qualifies for the loan itself. On a CalVet/VA loan the federal VA funding fee is not collected from a veteran receiving VA compensation. The rating filter does not hide this benefit.
The Calaveras County Assessor (Larie Durham), 891 Mountain Ranch Road, Building D, San Andreas (209-754-6356), takes the disabled veterans’ exemption claims; its FAQ sets the deadline - "February 15 - Last day to file exemption claims to receive 100% exemption", naming the Veterans’ and Blind or Disabled Veterans’ exemptions among them - and its forms route through capropeforms.org.
Qualifying disabled veteran or unmarried surviving spouse. The State entries carry the eligibility (a qualifying VA finding and, for the full exemption, the income test); the county takes the claim, with the February 15 deadline for the full-year exemption. The rating filter never hides this entry.
Caldwell County's Assessor takes the State's disabled veteran exclusion - the first $45,000 of the home's value, no income test - for a resident veteran with a 100% permanent and total service-connected disability or a specially adapted housing grant, or an unmarried surviving spouse, filed January 1 to June 1 with the State's NCDVA-9; 905 West Avenue NW, Lenoir (828-757-1418).
Service-connected, permanent and total disability. A 100% permanent and total service-connected disability, or a specially adapted housing grant under 38 U.S.C. 2101, certified on the NCDVA-9. No income test applies to the veteran.
Caldwell County Veteran Services runs a Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans' Assistance grant - $100,000 for FY2027, accepted September 10, 2026, after $100,000 plus a $150,000 Housing for Texas Heroes grant in FY2026 - paying past-due utilities, rent or mortgage, groceries, fuel and vehicle repairs for county veterans and surviving spouses whose liquid resources are $12,500 or less; honorable, general, other-than-honorable and uncharacterized discharges are all weighed.
Caldwell County veteran or spouse in hardship. Monthly liquid resources of $12,500 or less; utility help needs a past-due or final notice; character of discharge is one criterion (honorable, general, other than honorable and uncharacterized all listed). No rating is needed.
Calhoun County's tax collector, Sheriff Vernon Morris ex officio, at 109 South 2nd St., Hampton (870-798-2357), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; the county's page says nothing about it, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.
100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.
Calhoun County publishes the full text of the Act 48 complete exemption for the permanently and totally disabled regardless of income or age, requires the disability exemption to be claimed each year before December 31, and prints the false-claim penalty of twice the tax for up to ten years plus 15 percent interest.
Permanently and totally disabled, regardless of income or age. The Act 48 exemption covers the principal residence and 160 acres for anyone permanently and totally disabled, with no income test; the 65-and-older route keeps the $12,000 income limit.
For the January 1, 2026 lien date, $180,671 comes off the assessed value of the home a disabled veteran lives in, or $271,009 when household income is $81,131 or less. From the January 1, 2027 lien date through 2031, SB 296 replaces that with 50% of the first $1,000,000 of the home's full value, or 100% of it at the income limit.
100% service-connected. The exemption is a dollar amount off the assessed value of the principal residence, not the entire tax bill. One path is a VA rating of 100%.
A $4,000 exemption for a wartime or campaign veteran, a surviving spouse, or a qualifying parent. The claimant may not own more than $5,000 of property in total, or $10,000 if married, which is why almost nobody can use it.
Wartime or campaign service, plus a $5,000 or $10,000 property cap. No disability rating is required. The gates are the service period, California residence on the lien date, and an aggregate property cap of $5,000 for a single claimant or $10,000 for a married couple. The rating filter does not test any of those.
Calvert County refunds the county property tax a veteran or surviving spouse paid on the principal residence before the state 100% exemption was granted, on the terms of section 7-208. Claim it from the County Treasurer with the approved SDAT application.
100% permanent and total. The refund follows the state exemption, which SDAT grants on a 100% permanent and total rating or a finding of permanent unemployability. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.
Cambridge prints the statutory clause 22 amounts: $400 for a veteran rated 10 percent or more, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C, $1,000 for a 100 percent rating under 22E, and full exemption under 22D.
Camden County's Board of Assessors grants the State's disabled veterans homestead exemption - the greater of $32,500 or the current specially adapted housing maximum - on the home a qualifying disabled veteran or an unremarried surviving spouse owns and occupies as of January 1; the Assessors' page prints the 2025 amount as $121,812 and the Tax Commissioner's page a stale $85,645, so the State entry's current figure governs. 912-576-3241.
100% service-connected. The State entry carries the statute’s disabled-veteran test: a 100% total rating, payment at the 100% rate for individual unemployability, or the statutory loss-of-use awards.
The Cameron Appraisal District lists the Disabled Veteran and 100% Disabled Veteran's Homestead exemptions among what it administers, requires proof of Texas residency for all owners, and takes applications through its forms library, which carries the Comptroller's 50-114 and 50-135 forms; its site warns it is often mistaken for the County Tax Office across the highway.
10% for the partial exemption; 100% or unemployable for the homestead. The partial exemption starts at a 10% rating. The total homestead exemption needs 100% compensation with a 100% or unemployability rating. The surviving spouse exemptions need no rating.
The Campbell County PVA, 1098 Monmouth Street, Room 329, Newport (859-292-3871), takes the homestead exemption for an owner totally disabled under a federal programme, the VA included, on its own fillable application in lieu of Form 62A350; its page asks for proof of disability benefits and says an applicant qualifying on both age and disability takes one exemption, not two.
Totally disabled under a federal programme, the VA included, or 65 or older. The disability route needs a total disability classification with payments under it for the whole year; the PVA asks for proof of disability benefits. The rating filter never hides this entry.
Campbell County relieves up to $1,000 of real estate tax for a permanently and totally disabled owner with household income up to $50,000 and net worth up to $100,000. A VA certification is accepted.
Permanent and total disability. The owner is permanently and totally disabled and unable to work, or 65. VA, Social Security, the Railroad Retirement Board, or two doctors can certify it. A VA rating alone is not the test.
The assessor entity on Canaan’s site prints the veteran filing procedures without amounts, its 2022 Book of Ordinances carries no veterans’ option, and OLR’s survey recorded no municipal option.
The Canadian County Assessor's veteran's exemption page takes the State's full fair cash value homestead exemption for a 100% permanent service-connected veteran or their surviving spouse: honorable discharge, Oklahoma residence, VA certification, homestead qualification, the original raised-seal VA letter and ID, with Form 998; once granted it continues until qualifications change, and a move needs a new application, applied for any time of year.
100% schedular rating, permanent. One path is a 100% combined rating that VA has made permanent.
Canton’s local veterans’ benefit sheet prints a $10,000 exemption off assessment at income at or below $56,070, and the assessor posts the 100 percent P&T veteran application and the active duty motor vehicle form.
Canton’s Exemptions & Qualifications page lists the veterans’ clauses without amounts, so this entry gives the statute’s: $400 for a veteran rated 10 percent or more, $750 to $1,500 under 22A to 22C, $1,000 for a 100 percent rating, and full exemption under 22D and 22F.
Canyon County publishes no dedicated veteran benefit page, so the State rule governs: a 100% service-connected veteran applies at the county assessor between January 1 and April 15 for up to $1,500 off the tax on the home and one acre, on a VA letter; the assessor's office in Caldwell answers at its exemptions counter.
100% service-connected. Idaho Code 63-705A: a 100 percent service-connected rating.
Canyon County's Property Tax Reduction programme accepts applications only between January 1 and April 15, and a veteran with at least a 10% service-connected disability, or receiving a VA pension for a nonservice-connected disability, is one of the qualifying categories, subject to the programme's property value limit enacted in 2022.
10% or higher service-connected, or a VA pension. The qualifying veteran categories are a 10% or higher service-connected disability, or a VA pension for a nonservice-connected disability, with the programme's income and home-value tests.
Caroline County’s Commissioner of the Revenue takes the statewide home exemption on up to ten acres, because its elderly relief covers ten, for a veteran rated 100% permanent and total, including through individual unemployability. Its information sheet still quotes the pre-2019 rule tying a surviving spouse to the same home, and a cut to one acre is under study for 2027.
100% permanent and total. Caroline County applies the statewide exemption to the house and up to ten acres in 2026. It accepts individual unemployability. It does not add an income test. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.
Caroline County relieves 25% to 95% of real estate tax, up to $1,000, for a permanently and totally disabled owner with household income up to $50,000 and net worth up to $100,000, and halves county water charges for those who qualify. A VA certification is accepted.
Permanent and total disability. The owner is permanently and totally disabled and unable to work, or 65. VA, Social Security, the Railroad Retirement Board, or two doctors can certify it. A VA rating alone is not the test.
The Carroll County Tax Collector, 210 W. Church Avenue, Berryville, takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; its pages explain installments and penalties but say nothing about the exemption, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.
100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.
Carroll grants 100 percent relief on the dwelling and one acre to a veteran rated 100% service-connected, permanent and total - or paid at the 100% rate for unemployability, per Attorney General opinion 11-061 - with the surviving-spouse residence rule still printed pre-2019.
100% permanent and total. Carroll applies the statewide exemption to the dwelling and one acre. It accepts a disability compensated at the 100% rate under Attorney General opinion 11-061. Age 65 or 100% permanently and totally disabled. The applicant is age 65 by December 31, 2025, or 100% permanently and totally disabled if younger. A VA rating alone is not the test.
The Carson City Assessor at City Hall (775-887-2130) takes the State's veteran exemption ($3,640 of assessed value for 2026-27), disabled veteran exemption ($18,200, $27,300 or $36,400 at 60%, 80% or 100%) and surviving spouse exemption ($1,820), against real property by June 15 or against personal property or the vehicle governmental services tax any time before the tax is due. The Assessment Roll page still prints the 2025-26 amounts.
60% permanent for the disabled veteran exemption. The disabled veteran exemption starts at a permanent service-connected disability of 60%, counting separate ratings added together. The general veteran exemption needs qualifying service and no rating.
The Carter County Trustee, 801 East Elk Avenue, Elizabethton (423-542-1801), takes the State's property tax relief for disabled veterans and their surviving spouses, and for 2026 taxes pays a county supplement of $40 on top under a June 29, 2026 resolution; apply by April 5, 2027.
Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The State relief, and the county's $40 supplement on the same test, that the Carter County Trustee takes applications for. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.
Carteret County's Tax Department administers the State's disabled veteran exclusion - up to the first $45,000 of the appraised value of the permanent residence of a veteran discharged under honourable conditions with a total and permanent service-connected disability or adapted-housing benefits, or the unmarried surviving spouse - with form AV-9 and a form NCDVA-9 certification by June 1; late applications are considered case by case through the end of the year.
Permanent and total service-connected disability. The exclusion needs a total and permanent service-connected disability or a section 2101 adapted-housing benefit. The rating filter leaves the test to the State entry.

The Carver County Community Development Agency sets aside 10 of its 160 project-based housing vouchers in its own rental buildings for homeless veterans, and with the county and the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans opened four units of veterans housing in 2020; ask the CDA or Veteran Services (952-442-2323).
Homeless veterans in Carver County. The vouchers are for homeless veterans; the CDA sets the income and screening rules.
