For: Veteran or service member, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's, under La. Const. art. VII, section 21, as the State entries explain. The Caddo Parish Assessor, Dr. Regina Webb, publishes the routes on its own FAQ. The additional homestead. It applies if the owner qualifies for homestead (own and occupy) and is 100 percent service-related disabled. The owner must get a form from the Veterans Administration stating they are 100 percent disabled; with that, the FAQ says the owner can qualify for up to $75,000 of additional homestead. The freeze. A homeowner who is not 65 can qualify for the assessment level freeze by being 100 percent disabled for Social Security purposes or a 50 percent disabled veteran for service-related disability. The owner must bring a statement from Social Security stating 100 percent disability or a statement from the Veterans Administration stating a 50 percent service-related disability. Unlike the senior freeze, this one must be applied for each year and is not permanent.
