Cass County routes first applications for the state credit to the Fargo, West Fargo or county assessor with a DD-214 and a VA percentage certificate; the county page carries its own $180,000-value description of the credit and no deadline.
The credit follows the state gate: 50 percent or more, or the unemployability route. Section 57-02-08.8 requires a service-connected disability of fifty percent or greater, or an extra-schedular rating to include individual unemployability paid at the one hundred percent rate. The county intake applies the state rule.

Apply to the town or city assessor with the DD-214.
Wartime or Cold War service, discharged under honorable conditions. The State tests apply by local option; a disability rating raises the alternative exemption but is not needed for it.
Cayuga County's own veterans exemption pages set the route - apply to your local town assessor by March 1 with the DD-214 and licences, on the State's RP-458-a or RP-458-b forms - and print the county's own municipal level table: the county grants the alternative veterans exemption at Level B (wartime 15% or $9,000, combat 25% or $15,000, disability up to $30,000), Auburn at Level A, and the Cold War exemption at $15,000 or 15% where adopted.
