Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Article VII of Chapter 9 of the Campbell County Code relieves real estate tax on the home of an owner who is 65 or older or permanently and totally disabled. Combined income of the owners and relatives living in the home cannot exceed $50,000, with the first $10,000 of each relative other than a spouse left out, and net worth cannot exceed $100,000, excluding the home and one acre. Relief under section 9-11 is 100% of the tax with income up to $40,000, 75% to $45,000, and 50% to $50,000, never more than $1,000 a year on one property, and the owner must pay the rest of the year's tax by December 5 or lose it. An owner under 65 attaches a certification from the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, or the Railroad Retirement Board, or two doctors' affidavits. File every year between January 1 and April 1. It is not a VA rating of 100% service-connected, and a disabled veteran who does not meet that test can use it. Campbell's code states the disabled veteran and line-of-duty surviving spouse exemptions as the statutes now read, including the surviving spouse's right to move, so those are administered as the State tab describes.
