Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The assessor’s Local Vet Benefit Info Sheet 2025 gives the town’s local veterans’ exemption: “an additional $10,000 exemption off the assessment of your real estate or motor vehicle starting with the July 2025 tax bill (Grand List of October 1, 2024),” for a Connecticut resident residing in Canton with a basic veteran’s exemption on file in the Town Clerk’s office prior to October 1, 2025, at income at or below $56,070 - qualifying income is adjusted gross income plus Social Security, tax-exempt interest and pensions, with veterans’ disability payments not included - filed February 1 through October 1. “If you are 100% VA disabled there are different income levels available,” per the office. OLR’s 2023 survey recorded Canton as offering no municipal option; the town’s own sheet now prints one, so confirm the amount with the assessor. The exemptions page also carries the 100 Permanently and Totally Disabled Veteran Tax Exemption OPM notice and application and the Active Duty Motor Vehicle Exemption Form. Canton’s code was found on no readable host.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
