Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Idaho's Property Tax Reduction programme (the circuit breaker, Idaho Code 63-701 to 63-710) is administered by county assessors; the Idaho entry explains it. Canyon County's page: "Applications are accepted only between January 1 and April 15", and its qualifying categories include "Veteran with at least 10% service connected disability, or receiving VA pension for a non-service - connected disability." The value limit. "Beginning tax year 2022 the legislature enacted an additional requirement relating to property value. 63-705(1)(b) was amended..." - so the programme's home value ceiling applies; check the current year's limit with the assessor. The ceiling is now in 63-705(2), and it does not apply to a veteran rated 100% or paid at 100% for unemployability. A veteran rated 100% or paid at 100% for unemployability can have both the $1,500 veterans benefit and this reduction: Idaho Code 63-705A(1) grants the first "regardless of any reduction received under section 63-705", capping the two together at the actual tax. File for both rather than choosing.
