Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Oklahoma provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Jackson County Assessor (Cindy Stokes): the Veterans Personal Property Exemption (OTC 930) and the 100% Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemption

HousingJackson County, OK · County

The Jackson County Assessor (Cindy Stokes, 108 N. Hudson, Altus, 580-482-0787) posts OTC Form 930, the veterans exemption of $200 in assessed value on the household goods, tools, implements and livestock of a veteran who served during a declared national emergency (or a surviving spouse), returned with a DD-214 by March 15, and takes the 100% disabled veteran homestead exemption, to which the county’s How Do I page sends veterans.

Veterans who served during a declared national emergency, and surviving spouses. The $200 personal property exemption needs wartime or national-emergency service and a DD-214; the homestead exemption needs a 100% permanent and total rating. The rating filter never hides this entry.

Oklahoma Veterans Registry and Veterans Service Representatives

Registering with the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs is voluntary, but since November 1, 2020 it has been required before almost any state benefit: the sales tax card, the vehicle excise exemption, the free driver licence, the veteran designation, disabled veteran hunting and fishing licences and the $5 plate. The department's service representatives help with VA claims and state benefit letters at no charge.
