Columbia County

Street address

Start typing a street address. VetTOC reads only the county or town from it and opens its page.

Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Florida provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Columbia County Property Appraiser: Veteran Exemptions

HousingColumbia County, FL · County

Columbia County's Property Appraiser lists the $5,000 disabled veteran exemption, the total exemption for a service-connected total and permanent disability, and the 65-plus combat-related discount, all due by March 1 and filed in person at 135 NE Hernando Avenue, Suite 238, Lake City (386-758-1083); its note that a discount applicant must have been a Florida resident at enlistment is narrower than the statute.

10% for the $5,000 exemption; total and permanent for the full exemption. The $5,000 exemption starts at a 10% service-connected disability. The full exemption needs a service-connected total and permanent disability. The 65-plus discount equals the combat-related percentage.

MiscellaneousColumbia County, FL · County, Suwannee County, FL · County

Justice-involved veteran or service member. For a veteran or service member with a criminal case in Columbia or Suwannee County who qualifies for a veterans treatment court and whose transfer a receiving court accepts. A disability rating is not the test.
