Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Summit County Fiscal Office: Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemption

HousingSummit County, OH · County

Summit County's Fiscal Office takes the State's disabled veteran homestead application. Its page calls the veteran credit an "additional" exemption on $58,000, where the law makes it a replacement for the ordinary credit and the 2026 figure is $59,400, and asks for an honorable discharge where the statute accepts a general one.

Summit County Fiscal Office: Veteran ID Card

MiscellaneousSummit County, OH · County

The Fiscal Office's Recorder Division issues an Ohio veterans ID card for $1 to a veteran whose DD-214 shows an "honorable discharge status". The statute bars only a dishonorable discharge, so a veteran with a general or other than honorable discharge is eligible.

HousingSummit County, OH · County

Summit County's Fiscal Office defers property tax for a Guard or reserve member called to active duty, as Ohio now requires of every county treasurer: no tax due during the duty and six months after, then an instalment plan with penalties and interest removed. Its posted memo dates from 2003.

Guard or reserve member called to active duty. A Guard or reserve member on active duty, the spouse, or a dependent parent as the statute defines. No rating or discharge is involved.
