Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Alabama provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Mobile County Revenue Commission: Disability Exemption and Homestead

HousingMobile County, AL · County

Mobile County's Revenue Commission takes the State's full H-3 exemption for an owner retired because of permanent and total disability, on Social Security, pension or physician proof that never names a VA letter, and makes every holder reclaim it each year by December 31. From October 1, 2026 a veteran VA finds permanently and totally disabled no longer has to.

Retired because of permanent and total disability. Alabama uses its own permanent and total test, proved by a disability pension, Social Security with a physician affidavit, or two physicians. The rating filter cannot test it.
