Boyd County

Street address

Start typing a street address. VetTOC reads only the county or town from it and opens its page.

Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Kentucky provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Boyd County Circuit Court Veterans Court (the Veterans Justice Outreach docket)

MiscellaneousBoyd County, KY · County

Boyd County's circuit judges run their own veterans docket with the Huntington VA's Veterans Justice Outreach specialist - begun by Judge George W. Davis, presided by Judge John Vincent, taking referrals from other counties - outside the Department of Specialty Courts' certified list, so charges are worked through the court with the VA supplying treatment.

Justice-involved veteran. The docket serves veterans with pending charges who the VA assessment fits to treatment; a disability rating is not the test.

Boyd County Fiscal Court: the Veterans Year in the Minutes

MiscellaneousBoyd County, KY · County

The Boyd County Fiscal Court's 2025-2026 minutes - 27 sets read whole by OCR, the scans they are - carry two threads of veteran comment: Mike Wurts's thanks for the court's flags for the veterans' cemetery (May 13 and June 26, 2025) and Paul Reynolds's request about homes for disabled veterans on county-owned property (May 13 and June 3, 2025), which the court answered by offering a list of county-owned properties.

No eligibility - a board record. The record documents the Fiscal Court’s veteran commentary; it grants no individual entitlement.

Boyd County PVA: the homestead and disability exemption under Homer I. "Jay" Woods Jr.

MiscellaneousBoyd County, KY · County

The Boyd County PVA takes the homestead exemption the constitution and KRS 132.810 run for an owner classified totally disabled - its page says a veteran must have been classified as 70% disabled, but the statute needs a VA total rating or individual unemployability - filed in the Property Valuation Office at 2800 Louisa Street, Catlettsburg, with the 2025-2026 exemption at $49,100 of assessed value.

Classified totally disabled by a federal programme, including the VA. The applicant must be classified totally disabled for the whole year and receive disability payments under that classification. A VA total rating or individual unemployability counts; a partial rating does not.
