Thresholds
| Gate | Rule |
|---|---|
| No disability rating required | The designation requires only an honorable discharge and acceptable documentation. No rating is involved, so the rating filter never hides this entry. |
| Honorable discharge and one acceptable document | Proof is a copy of a VA identification card, a VA Health Identification Card, or a DD-214, DD-256, DD-257, or NGB-22. Applications are made in person at a Kentucky driver licensing regional office. |
| Evidence of service, not an entitlement | The designation confers no driving privilege, no license fee reduction, and no benefit eligibility of its own. Its value is satisfying proof-of-service requirements for discounts without carrying discharge paperwork. |
| Remote renewal for members stationed outside Kentucky | A Kentucky resident serving and stationed outside the Commonwealth, and that resident's spouse or dependents, may add a motorcycle endorsement electronically or by mail and may renew a Class D operator's license by mail using Form TC 94-28. |
