Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Mitchell County Board of Commissioners (Chairman Benjamin Hayward): the board’s minutes on a Cloudflare-blocked Weblink portal, with American Legion Posts 141 and 144 in the county

MiscellaneousMitchell County, GA · County

The Mitchell County Board of Commissioners - Chairman Benjamin Hayward (District 1), Vice Chairman Reggie Bostick (District 3), B. Keith Jones (District 2), Julius Hatcher (District 4) and David Griner (District 5), with County Administrator Gary Rice at 11 W Broad Street, Camilla (229-336-2000), meeting the second Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. with work sessions the last Monday - posts its archived meeting minutes on the county's MCC Innovations Laserfiche Weblink portal and its meeting videos on Facebook, neither readable by plain fetch, so the board's 2025-2026 record was not available to read; American Legion Posts 141 (Camilla) and 144 (Pelham) sit in the county per the Department of Georgia's post list.

No eligibility - a board record. The record documents the board’s posted pages and the county’s organizations; it grants no individual entitlement.

Mitchell County Clerk of Superior Court (Tess Gay): the county’s recorder of military discharges

MiscellaneousMitchell County, GA · County

The Mitchell County Clerk of Superior Court - Tess Gay, 26 N Court Ave, Camilla, GA 31730 (229-336-2021, fax 229-336-9866, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) - is the county's recorder of military discharges under O.C.G.A. 15-6-72 and 15-6-78; the county's own department services list records "deeds, mortgages, charters, and notary publics" and prints no discharge line, so the free recording and the 50-year closure rest on the State entries.

Any veteran with a discharge. The recording is free under O.C.G.A. 15-6-78 and the record is closed for fifty years under 15-6-72. No rating is needed.

Mitchell County Tax Commissioner (Brian Brock): the county’s own printed veteran rows at $50,000, with the 2026 State amount riding on the State entries

MiscellaneousMitchell County, GA · County

The Mitchell County Tax Commissioner - Brian Brock, P.O. Box 373, 5201 US Highway 19 S, Camilla, GA 31730 (229-336-2010, [email protected], Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., mitchellcountygatax.com) - publishes the county's own General Information page, which prints the Disabled Veterans Homestead Exemption "in an amount up to $50,000 deducted from the 40% assessed value of the homestead property" with the killed-in-action surviving-spouse exemption at the same amount and the April 1 filing deadline; the county's assessors' page carries the Homestead Exemption Application and the Board of Assessors' seats, and the qPublic record-search site was not read (the gap goes to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md).

Qualifying disabled veteran or surviving spouse who owns and occupies the home. The exemption follows O.C.G.A. 48-5-48 and 48-5-52.1; the county’s own page prints its $50,000 rows and the April 1 route. The rating filter never hides this entry.
