Georgia Veterans Field Service Offices

Department of Veterans Service field offices help Georgia veterans file VA claims at no charge. The office does not decide the claim.

Also called: VSO, claims, field service office, GDVS, benefits assistance.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Department of Veterans Service places veterans field service offices around the state. The officers help with VA claims and with the state documentation those claims and tax exemptions need. The help is free. The department directory lists the office, the counties it covers, and the address. The Atlanta field office is 205 Jesse Hill, Jr. Drive, Suite 460, Atlanta, GA 30334. Department offices are also at 2 MLK Jr Drive SE, Atlanta, GA 30334. A field office does not decide a VA claim. A county tax question about the homestead exemption goes to the county tax commissioner, not to the field office, though the office will help the veteran get the VA letter the county asks for.
