Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Georgia provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Forsyth County Clerk of Superior Court: Free Recording and Copies of Military Discharges

MiscellaneousForsyth County, GA · County

The Forsyth County Clerk of Superior Court's Real Estate Division records a veteran's DD-214, NPRC raised-seal copy or NA Form 13038 free at the courthouse, Suite 1007, Cumming, and gives free copies, certified or not, only to those Code section 15-6-72 lists, on the clerk's affidavit.

Any veteran. Recording a discharge and copies are free and no rating is needed. The rating filter never hides this entry.

Forsyth County: 100% Service-Connected Disabled Veteran Homestead (S5 and L5)

HousingForsyth County, GA · County

Forsyth County's Board of Assessors gives a disabled veteran under Code section 48-5-48 $126,526 off school, county bond and State taxes and $164,526 off county operations and fire taxes (S5), with full school tax exemption at 65 (L5); it carries to the unremarried surviving spouse or minor children. Apply in person at 426 Canton Highway with ID, award letter and DD-214.

100% service-connected. A disabled veteran as section 48-5-48 defines one: a 100% rating is one path; unemployability paid at the 100% rate and statutory awards are others the filter does not test.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.

VetTOC has not written a veterans service office for Forsyth County yet. The state’s service offices below serve it.
