Street address

Start typing a street address. VetTOC reads only the county or town from it and opens its page.

Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Georgia provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Chattooga County Clerk of Court (Kim Windle James): the recorder of military discharges for the Superior, State and Juvenile Courts

MiscellaneousChattooga County, GA · County

The Chattooga County Clerk of Court - Kim Windle James, 10035 Commerce Street, Summerville (706-857-0706, fax 706-857-0686) - is the county's recorder of military discharges under O.C.G.A. 15-6-72 and 15-6-78; her own site names her office across the "Superior, State, and Juvenile" courts and prints no discharge line, so the free recording and the 50-year closure rest on the State entries.

Any veteran with a discharge. The recording is free under O.C.G.A. 15-6-78 and the record is closed for fifty years under 15-6-72. No rating is needed.

Chattooga County Office of the Sole Commissioner (Andy Allen): the 2025-2026 public-session record that names no veteran item, with American Legion Post 129 in Summerville

MiscellaneousChattooga County, GA · County

Chattooga County is governed by a sole commissioner - Andy Allen ([email protected]), whose office at 10102 Commerce Street, Summerville (706-857-0700, fax 706-857-0742) houses Clerk of Commissioner Johnna Allen, HR's Arliss Scruggs and Accounts Payable's Sharon Martin - whose 2025-2026 public-session record (about twenty meetings with written summaries on the county's Public Administrative Meeting Information page, from the January 6, 2025 election board meeting to the September 25, 2026 tax levy meeting announcing the $932,735 rollback) names no veteran item in any of them; American Legion Post 129 meets in Summerville.

No eligibility - a board record. The record documents the sole commissioner’s posted 2025-2026 public sessions and the county’s veterans organizations; it grants no individual entitlement.

MiscellaneousChattooga County, GA · County

The Chattooga County Tax Commissioner - Courthouse Annex, 120 Cox Street, Summerville (706-857-0703, [email protected], P.O. Box 517, weekdays 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., closed Wednesdays) - publishes on its own site the county's exemption rundown: "The Disabled Veterans Homestead Exemption is available to certain disabled veterans which is deducted from the 40% assessed value of the homestead property" with the un-remarried-surviving-spouse paragraph and no amount printed, local age-70 county and school exemptions, and "Application Deadline for all State and Local Exemption is April 1"; the application is filed with the Chattooga County Tax Assessor's Office (Nancy Edgeman, Chief Appraiser, 706-857-0737), whose qPublic site was not read.

Qualifying disabled veteran or surviving spouse who owns and occupies the home. The exemption follows O.C.G.A. 48-5-48 and 48-5-52.1; the county’s own text names the route and no amount, and the age-70 local exemptions are the county’s own. The rating filter never hides this entry.
