The Union County Auditor, 233 West Sixth Street, Marysville (937-645-3003), takes the State's disabled veteran homestead credit on DTE 105I, due December 31; it posts the 2/16 form, which gives the old June deadline, and its page speaks only of the senior and disability homestead and its income test, which the veteran's credit does not have.
100 percent or paid at 100 percent for unemployability. A total disability rating, or compensation at 100% for individual unemployability, on January 1; discharged under honorable conditions.
How Union County runs the State's $45,000 disabled veteran homestead exclusion: one application by June 1, audited every four years. The Tax Administrator's 2026 brochure states the statute correctly but says a local veterans office cannot certify the NCDVA-9, while the County's veterans office says it can, as the State's form provides.
Permanent and total service-connected disability. The rating path is VA's certification of a total and permanent service-connected disability. A section 2101 adapted housing grant qualifies instead, and an unremarried surviving spouse qualifies on the veteran's routes or a service-connected death; the rating filter cannot test those.
Union’s assessor page gives the town’s veteran filing dates and posts the armed-forces motor vehicle exemption application without printing a veteran amount, and OLR’s survey recorded no municipal option.
Wartime service or a VA rating, set by state law. The exemptions rest on C.G.S. 12-81(19) to (26): 90 days of wartime service with a qualifying discharge filed with the town clerk, or a VA disability rating. Amounts above the base turn on rating and income. The rating filter does not hide this entry.
Upton’s assessors post the Commonwealth’s fillable Form 96-4 with no amount of the town’s own, so this entry gives the statute’s; its Veterans’ Agent is the town’s own Patrick Morris, whose Senior & Veterans’ Property Tax Work-Off Abatement gives veterans of any age up to $2,000 with eligibility the Veterans’ Agent sets.
A VA rating, a decoration, or a surviving relative. Clause 22 reaches a veteran rated 10 percent or more, a Purple Heart recipient, a Gold Star parent and the spouse or unmarried surviving spouse; 22A to 22E turn on named losses, decorations, a 100 percent rating or specially adapted housing. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.
Serve 200 days of active duty outside Utah inside any continuous 365-day period and the entire taxable value of your Utah primary residence is exempt for the following calendar year. It is one exemption per qualifying period, the days cannot be counted twice, and you must apply each time by September 1.
200 days of active duty outside Utah in one continuous 365-day period. Utah Code § 59-2a-101(25). The days need not be consecutive but must fall inside a single 365-day window, must be outside the state, and may be in an active or a reserve component.
Utah County's Auditor administers the State's exemption: an honorably discharged veteran with at least a 10% combined service rating, or the unmarried surviving spouse or minor orphaned child of a disabled veteran or someone killed in the line of duty, applies once - by September 1 - for a 2026 maximum benefit of $535,459 of taxable value, with a late petition route by September 1 of the following year; a killed-in-action beneficiary is exempt from all property tax.
10% or higher combined service rating. The exemption needs at least a 10% combined service rating; the benefit scales by the bands in the Utah entry, to a 2026 maximum of $535,459 of taxable value.
A $2,500 grant toward buying a first home in Utah, for a veteran who separated within the last five years or anyone currently serving in the active, reserve or Guard components. Owning a home in another state does not disqualify you. It is not in the Utah Code at all: it is an administrative programme funded by appropriation and run with the Utah Housing Corporation, and the application has to be in before closing.
Separated within the last five years, or currently serving. The department limits the grant to a veteran who separated within the last five years or a current member of the active, reserve or Guard components. Most other Utah veteran benefits have no time limit after discharge.
The exemption is your disability percentage multiplied by an indexed limit, which the Tax Commission currently publishes as $535,459 of taxable value. Individual unemployability counts as 100 percent whatever the schedule says, the floor is 10 percent, it can be applied to a vehicle instead of a house, and a 100 percent veteran can get it approved before buying.
A 10 percent rating is the floor, and the exemption scales from there. Utah Code § 59-2a-501(2)(d) forbids an exemption below 10 percent, and (2)(a) sets the amount at the disability percentage times the adjusted taxable value limit. Recorded rather than enforced because the survivor routes in subsection 3 exempt the full value without reference to the claimant’s own percentage.
Uxbridge’s assessors list disabled-veteran exemptions without an amount and its Forms page posts the Commonwealth’s own Form 96-4, so this entry gives the statute’s; its veterans’ services are the Blackstone Valley District’s, headquartered at Uxbridge Town Hall.
A VA-backed refinance of any existing mortgage, VA or not, that can take cash out of home equity, with a 2.15% funding fee on first use and 3.3% after.
VA home loan eligibility. A valid Certificate of Eligibility and occupancy of the home.
No VA funding fee, which is otherwise 1.25% to 3.3% of a purchase loan, for a veteran receiving or entitled to VA compensation, a surviving spouse on DIC, a Purple Heart recipient on active duty, and a service member with a pre-discharge rating.
Receiving or entitled to compensation. A compensable service-connected rating is the usual path. DIC surviving spouses and active-duty Purple Heart recipients are exempt without one.
A guaranty that helps an eligible veteran, service member, or some surviving spouses buy, build, or refinance a home with a private lender.
A streamline refinance of an existing VA-backed loan to a lower rate or from an adjustable to a fixed rate, with a 0.5% funding fee and usually no appraisal.
Existing VA-backed loan. The loan being refinanced must already be VA-backed.
The home loan that actually works in American Samoa. VA lends directly, because land here is communally owned and the ordinary VA guaranty has no collateral to attach to. Zero American Samoa veterans used the guaranty in 2021, 2022, or 2023.
No rating requirement at all. The Native American Direct Loan turns on a Certificate of Eligibility, credit, income, and land, not on a disability percentage. A veteran with a zero percent rating and a veteran at one hundred percent face the same test. A service-connected rating of ten percent or more does waive the VA funding fee, which is the only place a rating touches this loan.
Article XII of the Commonwealth Constitution restricts long-term interests in land to persons of Northern Marianas descent, which is what makes the territory eligible for VA’s direct loan and what makes the ordinary guaranty nearly unusable.
No rating requirement. The Native American Direct Loan turns on a Certificate of Eligibility, credit, income and land, not on a disability percentage. A service-connected rating of ten percent or more waives the VA funding fee, which is the only place a rating touches this loan.
The Valencia County Assessor (Celia Dittmaier) takes the State's veteran and disabled veteran property tax exemption applications on the Department of Veterans' Services' DVS Form 1, posts the Taxation and Revenue Department's bulletin on the 2024 constitutional amendments, and notes the exemption deadline on its forms page; 444 Luna Avenue, Los Lunas, 505-866-2065.
Disabled veteran exemption, in proportion to the rating. A permanent service-connected rating; the share of the home's taxable value exempt equals the rating, after the $10,000 exemption. The county takes the application on the DVS certification; its forms page posts the bulletin describing the 2024 amendments.
The Van Buren County Collector, Laura Shannon, 1414 Hwy 65 South, Suite 118, Clinton ((501) 745-8550), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; the county's transparency page sends veterans to the Assessor instead, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.
100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.
The Ventura County Assessor names the unemployability route and accepts a letter from the branch of service, but asks for an honorable discharge, and asks a surviving spouse for a letter that the veteran's death was service-connected, which Revenue and Taxation Code 205.5 does not require when the veteran already qualified.
100% or compensated at 100% for unemployability. The State exemption needs a 100% rating, permanent or not, compensation at 100% for unemployability, blindness in both eyes, or loss of the use of two or more limbs.
Vermilion County's Supervisor of Assessments takes the State's disabled veterans' and returning veterans' homestead exemptions on its own forms, mailing a renewal each year; its page still prints the pre-2023 rules, so check the Illinois entry for the current ones. 201 N. Vermilion Street, Third Floor, Danville; 217-554-1940.
30% or higher service-connected rating. The disabled veterans exemption starts at a 30% rating; the returning veterans exemption needs no rating. See the Illinois entries for the current bands.
$10,000 of appraisal value off the residence, which a town may vote up to $40,000, for a veteran receiving compensation for at least 50 percent disability or receiving a VA pension for disability. The deadline is May 1 and it is filed with the Office of Veterans Affairs, not the town.
Compensation for at least 50 percent disability. One route is receiving disability compensation for at least 50 percent disability. It is one of four alternatives in 32 V.S.A. 3802(11)(A)(i), so the rating filter never hides this benefit: a veteran paid VA pension for disability with no service-connected rating at all reaches the same exemption.
The Vernon Parish Assessor, 301 East Courthouse Street, Leesville (337-239-2167), takes the disabled veteran additional homestead exemption for a veteran rated 50 percent or more (or the surviving spouse) and the disabled veterans value freeze, each on a Form A25 signed by the parish veterans office; its page prints a $150,000 income limit for the freeze that the State's own entry calls a pending change.
50% or higher service-connected rating. Both the additional homestead exemption and the value freeze start at a 50% service-connected rating; the freeze adds an income cap, and the exemption also reaches the surviving spouse.
Vernon’s Code § 12-2 gives a $10,000 additional exemption to a veteran, active-duty member or widow or widower qualifying under the OPM income limits, and § 12-1 exempts the dwelling of a veteran who received federal specially adapted housing assistance. Its assessor page prints no amounts.
The Veterans Assistance Commission of Vermilion County, 123 N. Hazel Street, Danville, helps veterans and survivors with VA claims and enrolment and pays interim help with food, shelter, utilities, medical, burial and some vehicle repairs straight to the vendor for veterans with honourable or general discharges who have lived in the county six months; the superintendent can approve up to $2,000 a year. 217-554-7950.
Veterans and qualified family in Vermilion County. A Vermilion County veteran, or a qualifying spouse or survivor, who meets the commission's need standard. No rating is needed.
Veterans Rural Outreach (VRO) - founded in Shelbyville in 2015 by six veterans - runs Veterans Village at 506 Bradshaw Street, Shelbyville (502-520-5300): six fully furnished tiny homes opened October 1, 2020 for homeless veterans, with a 2,300-square-foot community centre opened the following year and a six-month transitional-housing programme whose residents receive personalized care plans, individual on-site VA counseling, assistance with VA claims and home loans, and professional financial mentors; VRO also provides food assistance, emergency shelter, home repairs and advocacy across Shelby County and the surrounding region.
Homeless veterans, with a six-month transitional programme. Veterans Village houses homeless veterans from Shelby County and the region in furnished tiny homes with a six-month transitional programme and on-site VA counseling; no rating is needed.
The Veterans Village on Anastasia Island, a former motel turned into 20 units of transitional and permanent affordable housing exclusively for veterans by Home Again St. Johns and the Veterans Council, offers case management, health and recovery referrals and job help. The County gave it one-time grants of $125,000 in January 2025 and again in January 2026.

Specially Adapted Housing grantee under 70. The veteran must have received an SAH grant and apply before 70.
Virginia Beach applies the statewide exemption for a veteran rated 100% service-connected, permanent, and total, and by city ordinance extends it to special service district levies. Two city offices state the surviving spouse rule differently; the statute lets the spouse move.
100% permanent and total. Virginia Beach states the 100% service-connected, permanent, and total rating. Individual unemployability rated permanent and total meets the statewide guidance. The city extends the exemption to special service district levies. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.
Income-based real estate exemption or freeze and a near-zero rate on one vehicle for a Virginia Beach resident who is permanently and totally disabled. The city does not count disability payments from a government agency, so VA compensation is left out of income.
Permanent and total disability. The owner or spouse is permanently and totally disabled, unable to engage in substantial gainful activity, or age 65. VA, Social Security, or the Railroad Retirement Board can certify it. A VA rating alone is not the test.
Full exemption from local real estate tax on the principal residence of a veteran VA has rated 100% service-connected, permanent, and total, or permanent and total through individual unemployability.
100% permanent and total. The home must be the principal residence. Fairfax County applies the statewide rule. It does not add an income test. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.
A Virginia Housing grant of up to $10,000 for accessibility work on a home or rental occupied by a disabled veteran or service member. Applications go through an accepted agent.
Service-connected disability. Granting Freedom is for a disabled veteran or service member. Virginia Housing does not publish a minimum combined rating. The agent will ask for documentation of the disability.
Voluntown’s assessor page describes the office’s duties and links the state’s assessment statutes without printing an exemption amount; the town’s former voluntownct.org is the school’s site.
The Volusia County Property Appraiser tells deployed service members to apply each year "by June 1"; section 196.173 sets March 1. It also describes the combat discount as for a partially disabled veteran, where the statute says partially or totally.
10% for the $5,000 exemption; permanent and total for the full one. The $5,000 exemption starts at 10%. The full homestead exemption needs total and permanent disability. The combat discount needs age 65 and a permanent rating with a combat-related part; the deployment exemption needs no rating.
The Wagoner County Assessor exempts the full fair cash value of the homestead of a 100% disabled veteran or eligible surviving spouse: a VA qualifying letter with a raised seal must be presented with a homestead in place, applications are due by March 15 for the current tax year, and the office takes applications at community field locations added to its page each December.
100% schedular rating, permanent. One path is a 100% combined rating that VA has made permanent.
How Wake County runs the State's $45,000 disabled veteran homestead exclusion: one application, due June 1, with late filings for good cause through December 31. Its page and form ask for an honorable discharge certificate and describe a surviving spouse's claim by the veteran's rating, leaving out the statute's route for a spouse whose veteran died of a service-connected condition.
Permanent and total service-connected disability. The rating path is VA's certification of a service-connected disability that is permanent and total, as of January 1. A specially adapted housing grant under 38 U.S.C. 2101 qualifies instead, and a surviving spouse can qualify where the veteran's death was service-connected; the rating filter cannot test those, so a veteran on either route should apply whatever the filter shows.
Wakefield’s fiscal 2027 taxpayer guide doubles the veteran exemptions, a range of $800 to $3,000 off the tax bill, what clause 22J at 100 per cent or section 5C½ at 100 per cent produces, and asks the assessors to confirm.
Wakulla County's Property Appraiser takes, in person by March 1, the $5,000 exemption for a veteran disabled 10% or more, the total exemption for a service-connected total and permanent disability on a VA rating decision or benefits summary letter, the wheelchair, active-duty death, deployment and 65-plus combat discount exemptions; filing before the letter arrives keeps the date. 3115-A Crawfordville Hwy, 850-926-0500.
10% for the $5,000 exemption; total and permanent for the full exemption. The $5,000 exemption starts at a 10% disability. The full exemption needs a service-connected total and permanent rating. The 65-plus discount equals the combat-related percentage.
Walker County explains on its own site how a homestead exemption is claimed at the Revenue Commissioner office and how the millage is built, and names the State Soldier Fund among the levies a Walker County tax bill carries.
Permanently and totally disabled, or 65 with income within the limits. Walker County administers the State exemption. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.
Walker County's Tax Commissioner takes the State's disabled veteran homestead exemption (its code S5) for a veteran rated 100% service-connected, carrying to the unremarried surviving spouse and minor children, at 122 Highway 95, Rock Spring, or 2012 McFarland Gap Road, Rossville, by April 1; its page still gives an old amount, $81,080, where the 2026 figure is $126,526.
100% service-connected. A disabled veteran as section 48-5-48 defines one: a 100% rating is one path; unemployability paid at the 100% rate and statutory awards are others the filter does not test.
The Walla Walla County Assessor (500 West Main Street; 509-524-2560) takes the State's property tax exemption, but its page describes only the age 61 and disability routes and the 2024-2026 income limits ($34,000, $40,000 and $47,000); from 2027 a veteran rated 40% or more, or paid at the total rate, qualifies at any age, and Walla Walla County's thresholds rise to $46,000, $54,000 and $61,000 with a $7,500 standard deduction a person.
40% service-connected, from taxes collected in 2027. RCW 84.36.381: a combined evaluation of 40% or more (80% for 2026 collections), or a total disability rating at any percentage; or age 61; plus the income test.
Waller County's Tax Office, which collects for the county, Hempstead, Brookshire, Hempstead and Royal ISDs and other units, takes homestead taxes in four installments without penalty from a disabled veteran with a disabled veteran exemption on the home, or an owner 65 or older or disabled, who pays a quarter before February 1 and tells the office; 836 Austin Street, Suite 1400, Hempstead.
A disabled veteran homestead exemption on the home. Section 31.031 covers a disabled veteran, or the unmarried surviving spouse, who has the 11.22 or 11.132 exemption, which starts at a 10% service-connected rating. Owners 65 and older or disabled qualify through the other route.
Wallingford’s Code § 203-2 gives up to $10,000 off assessment to a wartime veteran or surviving spouse with income up to $15,000 above the state limit, and adopts the 12-81g(b) option for a veteran rated 100 percent. In October 2025 the Town Council extended the dwelling exemption to unemployability-rated veterans, earlier surviving spouses and up to two acres.
Walpole’s fiscal 2026 tax assistance sheet prints an exemption amount range of $400 up to a full tax bill under clause 22, the statute, so this entry gives the statute’s amounts.
Waltham posts the state’s generic clause 22 form and its fiscal 2026 guidelines name no veteran amount, so this entry gives the statute’s: $400 for a veteran rated 10 percent or more, and full exemption under 22D and 22F.
Hammond Drive, Suite 109, Monroe (770-267-1352); once granted it carries over each year.

Walton County's Property Appraiser takes, in person by March 1, the $5,000 exemption for a veteran disabled 10% or more and the total exemption for a service-connected total and permanent disability on a VA rating decision or benefits summary letter, plus the wheelchair, active-duty death and 65-plus combat discount exemptions; filing before the letter arrives keeps the date. 571 U.S. Hwy 90 East, DeFuniak Springs, 850-892-8123.
10% for the $5,000 exemption; total and permanent for the full exemption. The $5,000 exemption starts at a 10% service-connected disability. The full exemption needs a service-connected total and permanent rating. The 65-plus discount equals the combat-related percentage.
Ward County takes the state disabled veteran credit application at its Tax Equalization office on the administration building’s second floor, by mail or fax; its own page still quotes an older, larger statutory ceiling.
The credit follows the state gate: 50 percent or more, or the unemployability route. Section 57-02-08.8 requires a service-connected disability of fifty percent or greater, or an extra-schedular rating to include individual unemployability paid at the one hundred percent rate. The county intake applies the state rule.
Ware’s assessors’ Document Center posts the Commonwealth’s generic Clause 22 brochure and the state’s Form 96-4 with no amount of the town’s own, so this entry gives the statute’s.
