Wagoner County Assessor: 100% Disabled Veterans Exemption
The Wagoner County Assessor exempts the full fair cash value of the homestead of a 100% disabled veteran or eligible surviving spouse: a VA qualifying letter with a raised seal must be presented with a homestead in place, applications are due by March 15 for the current tax year, and the office takes applications at community field locations added to its page each December.
Also called: property tax, assessor, Article X, section 8E, Form 998, raised seal, VA letter, March 15, field locations, Wagoner, Coweta, Wagoner, Coweta, Broken Arrow, Porter, Okay.
The exemption is the State's; see the Oklahoma entries. Article X, section 8E exempts the full fair cash value of the homestead of a 100% permanently disabled veteran.
What the county says. The Assessor's Other Exemptions page: "An exemption from property tax on homestead property only is available for 100% disabled veterans. You must be an Oklahoma resident and eligible for homestead exemption on the subject property. The exemption would apply to certain injured veterans and their surviving spouses. The exemption would be for the full fair cash value of the homestead property and personal property where applicable. The Assessor's office does not qualify you for this exemption. The Veteran's Administration sends the qualifying letter to the veteran. It comes with instructions and a raised seal on the letter. This letter must be presented to the Assessor's office before you can file. If you think you might qualify but you have never received a letter please call the Veteran's Administration at 800-827-1000 or feel free to call our office and we will try to help you. The property owner must have a current homestead in place, or qualify for one for the current year."
When. The Homestead Exemption page: "Wagoner County Assessor's Office will have representatives out in the community to take applications for Homestead, Senior Freeze and 100% Disabled Veteran exemptions. The applications must be filed no later than March 15 with the Assessor's office to be applied to the current tax year." The page links the Oklahoma Tax Commission's Form OTC-921 for the homestead; the disabled veteran application is the Tax Commission's Form 998.
The Board's year. On January 27, 2026 the Board of County Commissioners approved the "Veteran exemption for 2025 in the amount of $710,078.00" - the county's certification of the exemption's cost for reimbursement - on Commissioners Hanning's and Stamps's aye votes.
