Union Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions

Union’s assessor page gives the town’s veteran filing dates and posts the armed-forces motor vehicle exemption application without printing a veteran amount, and OLR’s survey recorded no municipal option.

Also called: property tax, 12-81g, veterans exemption, assessor, Union.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The assessor page’s “Important Filing Dates” list requires a veteran’s discharge filed with the Town Clerk by September 30, a veterans disability filing prior to October 1, and letters from servicemen filed prior to October 1. No veteran amounts are printed. The page’s downloads carry the “Application for Motor Vehicle Property Tax Exemption for Residents Who Are Members of the Armed Forces CGS 12-81(53),” and the text says armed-forces members seeking the motor vehicle exemption must complete that application. OLR’s 2023 survey recorded Union as offering no municipal option, and no code was found on a readable host.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
