The credit is the State's (Revised Code 323.151 and 323.152; see the Ohio entry for the current amount, $59,400 of market value for tax year 2026, the unemployability route, the surviving spouse rule, the December 31 filing date and the one-time House Bill 479 share). What the Auditor's page says. "Senior citizens and the permanently disabled are eligible to receive a Homestead Exemption ... As of 1/1/2014, the Homestead Exemption requires a means test." That income test does not apply to the disabled veteran credit. The test is a 100% rating or pay at 100% for individual unemployability on January 1, with a discharge under honorable conditions. To share in the House Bill 479 relief on the bills of early 2027, a newly qualified veteran should be approved before the State's November 1, 2026 count. Where.
