Uxbridge Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

Uxbridge’s assessors list disabled-veteran exemptions without an amount and its Forms page posts the Commonwealth’s own Form 96-4, so this entry gives the statute’s; its veterans’ services are the Blackstone Valley District’s, headquartered at Uxbridge Town Hall.

Also called: property tax, clause 22, 22E, veterans exemption, assessors, Uxbridge.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Town of Uxbridge grants the veterans’ exemptions of G.L. c. 59, s. 5, clauses 22 to 22F, through its board of assessors. The statute sets them as dollars off the tax bill, $400 under clause 22, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C and $1,000 under 22E, and exempts the whole domicile under 22D and 22F; a town can add to them only by accepting a local option, clause 22I, clause 22J or section 5C½. Every figure on this entry carries its source and the day it was read. The Assessor’s Office page names Kenneth M. O’Brien the Principal Assessor (508-278-8600, extension 2029), Donna C. Hardy the Administrative Assistant and Kathleen Schofield the Data Collector, at Town Hall, 21 South Main Street, and says the Assessors handle requests for abatements and exemptions, the exemptions "for income-eligible elderly, surviving spouses, blind, and disabled veterans", printing no amount of the town’s own. The office’s Forms page posts "Application: Disabled Veterans Exemption (22, 22D, 22E)" - the Commonwealth’s Form 96-4, revised December 2022, headed UXBRIDGE - and links the Department of Revenue’s veterans’ guide. No acceptance of clause 22I or 22J was found on the town’s site, so the figures here are the statute’s. The Veterans’ Services page names the Blackstone Valley Veterans’ Services District, Douglas-Millbury-Northbridge-Sutton-Uxbridge, and lists its services as VA claims and assistance, VA healthcare applications, "MA State Veterans Assistance (Chapter 115)", local veterans’ program assistance, DD Form 214 records requests and grave marker requests, with Carl Bradshaw the Veterans’ Services Director (extension 2017) and Annmarie Cleary the Assistant Director (extension 2037), at Town Hall, 21 South Main Street - the office and extensions the EOVS directory’s September 7, 2026 row lists ([email protected]), whose rows for Douglas, Millbury, Northbridge and Sutton name the same office. Chapter 115 benefits, the Commonwealth’s needs-based help with rent, food, fuel and medical costs, are applied for through Blackstone Valley Veterans’ Services District: Carl Bradshaw, Director. Their amounts are set by the Commonwealth and are the same in every city and town; the statewide chapter 115 entry describes them.

GateRule
A VA rating, a decoration, or a surviving relativeClause 22 reaches a veteran rated 10 percent or more, a Purple Heart recipient, a Gold Star parent and the spouse or unmarried surviving spouse; 22A to 22E turn on named losses, decorations, a 100 percent rating or specially adapted housing. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
