Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemptions are the State's; the Florida entries explain them. The Volusia County Property Appraiser, 123 W. Indiana Avenue, Room 102, DeLand (386-736-5901), grants them. The deployment deadline. The Appraiser's page says deployed service members "are required to apply each year by June 1". Section 196.173(6)(a) requires the application "on or before March 1 of the year following the year of the qualifying deployment" (for the 2026 roll only, chapter 2026-239 allowed until August 1). An application filed between March 2 and June 1 in reliance on the page is late under the statute and depends on the late-filing rules. File by March 1. The page otherwise describes the exemption correctly, including former members and filing by a spouse, attorney in fact or personal representative; see the Florida entry for the operations. The combat discount. The page asks that the veteran "Be partially disabled with a permanent service-connected disability. All or a portion of such disability must be combat related." Section 196.082(1) covers a veteran "partially or totally permanently disabled". It sets the discount correctly at the whole permanent rating. The $5,000 and total and permanent exemptions are described as the statutes provide.
