Utah County's Auditor administers the State's exemption: an honorably discharged veteran with at least a 10% combined service rating, or the unmarried surviving spouse or minor orphaned child of a disabled veteran or someone killed in the line of duty, applies once - by September 1 - for a 2026 maximum benefit of $535,459 of taxable value, with a late petition route by September 1 of the following year; a killed-in-action beneficiary is exempt from all property tax.

The exemption is State law, Utah Code 59-2a-501 and 59-2a-502 since the 2025 recodification; the Utah entry explains the amounts and the rating bands. In Utah County the Auditor's Tax Administration administers it - the Assessor's page lists processing abatements among what it does not do.
