Swansea’s FY 2027 Exemption Information sheet prints the statutes doubled: $800 under clause 22, $1,500 under 22A, $2,500 under 22B, $3,000 under 22C and $2,000 under 22E, with full exemption under 22D and 22F.
A VA rating, a decoration, or a surviving relative. Clause 22 reaches a veteran rated 10 percent or more, a Purple Heart recipient, a Gold Star parent and the spouse or unmarried surviving spouse; 22A to 22E turn on named losses, decorations, a 100 percent rating or specially adapted housing. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.
Talladega County takes the State homestead and disability exemption claims at its Revenue Commissioner office at 1 Court Square, Talladega; the office publishes its mapping, appraisal, assessing and collection duties but no exemption text.
Permanently and totally disabled, or 65 with income within the limits. Talladega County administers the State exemption. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.
The Tallapoosa County Revenue Commission's homestead page describes four exemption types and folds the disabled-owner exemption into 'Act 48' with a $12,000 annual taxable income cap, where the State's section 40-9-21 exemption for a person permanently and totally disabled carries no income limit - the page's own four-type list has no separate no-income-limit disabled exemption - and takes applications October 1 to December 31, with disabled applicants able to be served without coming to the courthouse by calling (256) 825-7831.
The State exemption tests, taken by the county. The county administers the State exemptions; the qualification tests are the statutes, and the State entry carries the section 40-9-21 rules the page compresses. No rating is needed for the page itself.
The Tangipahoa Parish Assessor prints the veteran tiers on its homestead page - $100,000 homestead exemption at 50-69%, $120,000 at 70-99%, and a full exemption on parish taxes at 100% - and warns that city taxes never qualify.
50-69%, 70-99% and 100% tiers. 50-69%: $100,000 homestead exemption. 70-99%: $120,000. 100%: full exemption on parish taxes. City taxes do not qualify.
The Tarrant Appraisal District takes the 100% disabled veteran homestead exemption with VA documentation showing 100% compensation, the effective date and a 100% or unemployability rating, and asks a surviving spouse for VA documentation naming the spouse. Its description of who qualifies matches Tax Code 11.131.
100% or unemployable for the homestead; 10% for the donated residence. The total homestead exemption needs 100% compensation with a 100% or unemployability rating. The donated residence exemption starts at 10%.
Taunton’s assessor’s page and applications-forms page print no exemption amount, the forms page posting only the Commonwealth’s generic Form 96-4, so this entry gives the statute’s.
The Bell appraisal district states the 100% homestead and partial exemptions as Tax Code 11.131 and 11.22 do, but its late filing rule gives homestead exemptions two years, where section 11.439 gives a disabled veteran five years for the 100% homestead, and its exemptions page leaves out the line-of-duty and presumptive-condition spouse exemptions.
10% for the partial exemption; 100% or unemployable for the homestead. The partial exemption starts at 10%, and some routes need no percentage. The total homestead exemption needs 100% compensation with a 100% or unemployability rating. The surviving spouse exemptions need no rating.
Tazewell County’s Commissioner of the Revenue takes the statewide home exemption for a veteran rated 100% service-connected, permanent, and total or rated total on the basis of individual unemployability, on the dwelling and one acre, including a house or mobile home on land the veteran does not own.
100% permanent and total. Tazewell County applies the statewide exemption to the dwelling and one acre, including a house or mobile home on land the veteran does not own. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.
Tazewell County relieves up to $300 a year of real estate tax on the dwelling of an owner who is 65 or older - or a veteran with a permanent, total, service-related disability, whose own exemption is capped at $100 unless he or she qualifies by age - with income to $40,000 and net worth to $100,000. File by March 1.
Age 65, or a veteran with a permanent, total, service-related disability. The owner is 65 or older, or a veteran determined to have a permanent, total, service-related disability as section 18-65(5) defines it, with VA certification conclusive proof.
The Teller County Assessor takes the State's veteran with a disability exemption - 50 percent of the first $200,000 of actual value on the qualified primary residence - on its Tax Exemptions for Seniors / Veterans / Gold Star Spouses page, which names the 100 percent permanent rating, the 2025 addition of individual unemployability, surviving-spouse and Gold Star routes, and posts the 2026 forms and instructions.
100% permanent rating. One path is a 100 percent permanent service-connected rating.
Templeton’s assessors post the Commonwealth’s combined Form 96 and a generic personal-exemptions sheet with no amount of the town’s own, so this entry gives the statute’s; its Veterans Services are the town’s own office, Michelle Durkee the Veterans Services Director, whose Wednesday hours the page records and whose rows the directory carries for Baldwinville and Otter River too.
The state reimburses the local property tax on the first $175,000 of full market value of a disabled veteran’s home, with no income limit. It is a reimbursement out of the general fund rather than an exemption, and the deadline is 35 days after the local taxes go delinquent.
Service-connected permanent and total disability. Section 67-5-704(b) offers three routes and this is the one a rating reaches. Subdivision (b)(3) asks for "service-connected permanent and total disability or disabilities, as determined by the United States department of veterans' affairs".
The means-tested programs a veteran falls back on when the disabled veteran route is out of reach: $38,470 of 2025 income and relief on the first $33,600 of market value for tax year 2026.
Maximum 2025 income of $38,470 for tax year 2026. Counted across the applicant, spouse, all owners, and any owner of a remainder or reversion whose legal residence the property was at any time during the year. Nursing home portions of social security, railroad retirement equivalent and veterans entitlements required by federal regulation to be paid to the home are excluded for an owner who relocates there.
A county or city may appropriate its own money to add to the state tax relief a disabled veteran already receives, up to the total tax actually paid. Whether it does is a local ordinance question, not a state one.
Only where the local body has adopted it. Section 67-5-701(j)(1) is permissive. Counties, municipalities and metropolitan governments may appropriate funds for this; nothing requires them to.
A disabled veteran who moves in with a relative or into a hospital or nursing facility keeps the property tax relief, so long as there is an intent to return. The 2018 act that fixed this paid people back to October 3, 2017.
Temporarily relocated for health care. To the home of a friend or relative, or to a hospital or skilled or intermediate care facility. Section 67-5-704(j).
The administrative half of the tax relief program. A 35-day deadline with a good-cause waiver, a statutory power to cut every payment when the appropriation runs short, a two-year bar on clawbacks, and no repayment when VA reverses itself.
Thirty-five days after the local delinquency date. Section 67-5-701(d)(1). The date varies by jurisdiction. Applications and credit voucher presentments are valid only if received by the division of property assessments by May 5 following, or within thirty days of the deadline, whichever is later.
Tewksbury’s exemptions table gives $600 under clause 22, one and a half times the statute, and the statute’s $750 under 22A and $1,000 under 22E, with 22D varying.
The Texas County Assessor posts the Missouri Constitution's homestead exemption for a former prisoner of war with a total service-connected disability and the proofs to bring - a VA letter of the total disability and a DD-214 or NARA or VA letter showing prisoner of war status - at 210 N. Grand Avenue, Suite 201, Houston (417-967-4709).
Former POW with a total service-connected disability. Only a former prisoner of war with a total service-connected disability who owns and lives in the home qualifies; the rating filter tests the rating, not the POW status.
A flat dollar amount comes off the appraised value of any one property a disabled veteran owns: $5,000 at a 10% to 29% rating, $7,500 at 30% to 49%, $10,000 at 50% to 69%, and $12,000 at 70% and above. At 65 or older, any rating of at least 10% gets the full $12,000.
Service-connected rating of at least 10%. The exemption amount is a step function of the rating: $5,000 at 10% to 29%, $7,500 at 30% to 49%, $10,000 at 50% to 69%, and $12,000 at 70% and above. A rating below 10% gets nothing under the schedule.
When a charity donates a home to a partially disabled veteran, or sells it for no more than half its market value, the homestead is exempt by the same percentage as the disability rating. A 60% rating means 60% of the appraised value comes off.
Service-connected rating below 100%. The exemption percentage equals the disability rating percentage, so the rating both opens the benefit and sets its size. A veteran rated 100% is covered by section 11.131 instead, which exempts the whole value.
The entire appraised value of the residence homestead comes off the tax roll for a veteran awarded 100% disability compensation with a rating of 100% or individual unemployability. This is a full exemption, not a dollar cap, and an unmarried surviving spouse keeps it and can move it to a later home.
100% service-connected. Section 11.131 requires both a VA award of 100 percent disability compensation and a qualifying rating. One path is a VA rating of 100%.
Up to $50,000 for repairs and improvements to a home a veteran already owns, with no down payment, on a 2 to 20 year term. A rating of 30% or more takes half a point off the rate. Accessibility work on an aging home is the common use.
A rating of 30% or more buys the discounted rate. The loan does not require a rating. A VA service-connected disability rating of 30% or greater lowers the rate by half a percentage point. Below 30%, the loan is still available at the standard rate.
A state-funded fixed-rate mortgage of up to $832,750 for a primary residence in Texas, with little or no money down. A VA service-connected rating of 30% or more takes half a point off the interest rate. The loan can be used again after it is paid off.
A rating of 30% or more buys the discounted rate. No rating is needed to get the loan. A VA service-connected disability rating of 30% or greater lowers the interest rate by half a percentage point. Below 30%, the loan is still available at the standard rate.
Up to $200,000 to buy a tract of one net acre or more in Texas, typically with 5% down on a fixed-rate 30-year term (7.25% in October 2026). Two veterans married to each other who are each individually eligible can borrow up to $275,000 on the same tract. No other state runs a program like it.
Texas residence and qualifying service, no rating. The gates are age 18, Texas residence, and qualifying service. No VA disability rating is required, and unlike the VLB home loan there is no published rating-based interest discount on the land loan. The rating filter does not hide this benefit.
The Waypoint Veterans' Center - Discovering Soldiers' Potential's transitional-housing project in the renovated former Georgia State Patrol Post 2, presented to the Troup County Board of Commissioners by Executive Director Sandra Brownlee on May 19 and June 2, 2026 - requested county assistance of $375,000 for the fire suppression system necessary for transitional-housing occupancy; the request sat on the Board's agendas, with volunteer partners and board members introduced and no appropriation recorded in the window.
Veterans seeking the Center’s transitional housing. The Center serves veterans transitioning home; the county record documents the request, not an entitlement. The rating filter never hides this entry.
Thomaston’s assessor posts an exemption spreadsheet printing $6,000 for wartime service, $12,000 to $21,000 by disability rating, $24,000 to $42,000 under 12-81g, and a fully exempt motor vehicle for active duty members.
Wartime service or a VA rating, set by state law. The exemptions rest on C.G.S. 12-81(19) to (26): 90 days of wartime service with a qualifying discharge filed with the town clerk, or a VA disability rating. Amounts above the base turn on rating and income. The rating filter does not hide this entry.
The Thurston County Assessor gives the veteran route as an 80% rating, 40% from 2027, and the top income limit as $59,000, $83,000 from 2027. It leaves out the statute's second route, a total rating paid for individual unemployability at any percentage.
40% service-connected, from taxes collected in 2027. RCW 84.36.381: a combined evaluation of 40% or more (80% for 2026 collections), or a total disability rating at any percentage; or age 61; plus the income test.
The Tioga County Assessment Office at the courthouse, 118 Main Street, Wellsboro, keeps the rolls the State's disabled veterans' real estate tax exemption lands on; the exemption itself is the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs' to grant, and the county's own exemption application PDF is the institutional form under 53 Pa.C.S.A. 8812, not a veteran route.
100% permanent, on one path. One path is a VA rating of 100% made permanent. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because the statute also opens on blindness, paraplegia or the loss of two limbs at any rating.
The Tipton County Trustee, Courthouse Room 203, 1 Pleasant Avenue, Covington (901-476-0211), takes the State's property tax relief applications for disabled veteran homeowners and disabled veterans' widow(er)s on forms F-16 and F-16S, and for anyone the State approves the county pays up to $50 more of any balance left on the 2026 bill.
Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The county supplement goes only to a disabled veteran or widow(er) the State approves for its relief. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.
Tiverton’s veterans’ property tax exemptions under R.I. Gen. Laws 44-3-4, with the statutory figures for Tiverton and the day each was read. Confirm the current amount with the assessor.
Service and discharge set by state law. A veteran of a war, conflict or Cold War service period named in 44-3-4 or 44-3-4.2, honorably discharged, discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, or still serving honorably; or the unmarried widow or widower. No disability rating is needed for the basic exemption, so the rating filter never hides this entry.
The Tooele County Auditor takes the State's veteran exemption for a primary residence, up to $535,459 of taxable value by disability percentage, for a veteran with a qualifying rating and certain surviving spouses, with a DD-214 and the VA rating letter, online or in person; abatement and veteran applications are due September 1 each year (435-843-3312).
10% to 100% service-connected. The State exemption needs a service-connected rating of 10% or more; the benefit scales by the bands in the Utah entry.
Torrington’s page gives a $3,000 base veterans’ exemption, the state additional exemption that doubles it for income up to $46,300 single or $56,500 married, and a local option additional exemption it prints at $40,000 for income up to $71,300 single or $81,500 married; its Code § 187-27 sets the local option at $20,000.
The Transylvania County Tax Administration (20 East Morgan Street, Brevard; 828-884-3200) takes applications for property tax relief - "Elderly/Disability Exemption, Circuit Breaker program or Disabled Veteran" - from January 1 through June 1 each year, and its form library hosts the Disabled Veterans Certification Form beside the 2027 AV-9; the exclusion is G.S. 105-277.1C, carried by the State entry.
100% permanently service-connected or a VA permanent-and-total finding. The Disabled Veterans Exclusion needs the honorable discharge and the Disabled Veterans Certification Form; the county takes the filing. The rating filter never hides this entry.
The Travis Central Appraisal District describes the 100% homestead and partial exemptions as Tax Code 11.131 and 11.22 do, unemployability and service branch ratings included, but calls the line-of-duty spouse exemption one for a member "killed in action", where section 11.133 covers anyone killed or fatally injured in the line of duty, and leaves out a 100% surviving spouse's right to move the exemption to a new home.
10% for the partial exemption; 100% or unemployable for the homestead. The partial exemption starts at 10%, and some routes need no percentage. The total homestead exemption needs 100% compensation with a 100% or unemployability rating. The surviving spouse exemptions need no rating.
Trinity County holds a $289,000 Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance grant to give financial assistance to qualified veterans and their families; the FY2027 budget spreads it over rent ($57,333), utilities ($57,334), food ($57,333), home improvements ($100,000) and $17,000 of part-time staff. Apply through the Veterans County Service Officer.
Qualified Trinity County veterans and their families. The grant serves qualified veterans and their families; the county posts no income or discharge rule, so ask the officer. No rating is needed.
Trumbull’s Code § 18-30 gives a $20,000 additional exemption to a wartime veteran and $3,000 to a veteran with a disability rating, under the state income limit, and § 18-31, adopted October 6, 2025, gives the dwelling exemption to a TDIU-rated veteran, capped at two acres and the town’s median residential assessment.
The Trumbull County Auditor takes the State's disabled veteran homestead application, DTE 105I, with the DD-214 and award letter, but its page still gives the 2025 figure of $58,000 where tax year 2026 real property is $59,400, and it leaves out the individual unemployability route the statute gives.
100% service-connected. A total rating of 100% for service-connected disability, or compensation at 100% for individual unemployability.
The Tulare County Assessor prints the 2026 amounts, $180,671 basic and $271,009 under an $81,131 household income, and takes unemployability. It leaves out blindness, the loss of the use of two limbs and the 2027 change.
100% or compensated at 100% for unemployability. The State exemption needs a 100% rating, permanent or not, compensation at 100% for unemployability, blindness in both eyes, or loss of the use of two or more limbs.
The Tulsa County Assessor takes the State's full homestead exemption for a 100 percent permanently disabled veteran in person, with a VA property tax letter that it says must carry a raised seal and the property address. Its page omits the household personal property exemption and describes the line-of-duty spouse exemption as for a veteran killed in action.
100% schedular rating, permanent. One path is a 100% combined rating that VA has made permanent.
The Tuolumne County Assessor, 2 South Green Street, Sonora (209-533-5535), takes the State's disabled veterans' exemption on BOE-261-G; its page names a 100% service-connected rating, blindness in both eyes or the loss of use of two or more limbs, and leaves out the veteran paid at 100% for unemployability, whom the law also covers.
100% or compensated at 100% for unemployability. The State exemption needs a 100% rating, permanent or not, compensation at 100% for unemployability, blindness in both eyes, or loss of the use of two or more limbs.
Tuscaloosa County keeps a separately elected Tax Assessor, and its own instructions add two things the statutes leave loose: the disability route has no income limit, and a first-time 100% disabled claimant can bring proof of disability at any time of year while the sign-up window stays October 1 to December 31.
100% permanent disability for the complete exemption. The assessor requires a 100% permanent disability with documentation for the complete exemption; the age route carries the $12,000 income tests. No income limit applies on the disability route.
Tuscola County voters decide the county's veterans funding on November 3, 2026: Resolution 2026-11 (adopted July 16, 2026, 5-0) places the Veterans Services Millage Renewal - 0.1697 mill, six years through 2032, an estimated 406,500 dollars in the first year - and a separate Veterans Services Millage Increase of 0.03 mill through 2032, an estimated 72,575 dollars in 2027, as two proposals, the office's first increase ask and the fund "primarily" paying for the department.
Countywide millage - no individual eligibility. The millage funds the county Veterans Affairs department; it grants no individual entitlement. The rating filter never hides this entry.
The Twin Falls County Assessor takes the State's disabled veteran benefit - up to $1,500 off the tax on the home and an acre for a veteran rated 100% or paid at 100% for unemployability - and the income-tested property tax reduction, which counts a veteran rated 10% or more or drawing a VA pension; both are filed January 1 to April 15 with an ID, proof of Social Security number and a current VA letter.
100% (veteran benefit) or 10% (reduction). The $1,500 benefit needs a 100% rating or 100% pay for unemployability; the income-tested reduction counts a 10% rating or a VA pension.
A territorial home or land loan for a Virgin Islands veteran, published at a maximum of $220,000 at 3.5 percent. The office’s own list says "when available," and that qualifier is the most important word in it.
Virgin Islands Veteran only. The Office of Veterans Affairs limits this benefit to a Virgin Islands Veteran: someone who was a domiciliary of the Virgin Islands and who entered the armed services in the Virgin Islands, or who was a domiciliary but entered in another jurisdiction while temporarily residing there. A veteran who moved to the territory after service does not meet it.
Full exemption from all real property taxes on the homestead of a veteran entitled to compensation for a permanent and total service-connected disability. It is the largest territorial benefit in the Virgin Islands.
Permanent and total disability. The March 14, 2025 summary requires a service-related disability rating determined by VA that entitles the veteran to receive compensation for permanent and total disability. The exemption then covers all real property taxes on that veteran\u2019s homestead.
A $650 credit against the real property tax bill for a veteran or a veteran’s widowed spouse who occupies the home. It is one of several credits and you may take only one besides the homestead itself.
No rating, no era, no length of service. Policy Letter 6 defines the qualifying veteran as a person who was in active service as determined by the Veterans Administration and received a discharge other than dishonorable. Nothing turns on a disability percentage.
On September 15, 2026 the Ulster County Legislature adopted, 23 to 0, a local law opting into Real Property Tax Law 458-a(11), fully exempting from County taxes and County special district charges the primary residence of a veteran VA considers permanently and totally disabled from service, from the first roll with a taxable status date on or after October 1, 2026, pending the County Executive's approval and filing.
VA permanent and total disability from service. The full exemption needs a VA letter or form saying the veteran is permanently and totally disabled as a result of military service. It applies to County taxes only, from the first roll after the law is filed.
The Union County Tax Collector, Karen Scott, 101 North Washington, Room 106, El Dorado ((870) 864-1930), gives a full credit on vehicle and home taxes to a disabled veteran who brings the VA form, but still says it must receive the form each year, which Act 876 of 2025 ended.
100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.
