Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Franklin Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions

HousingTown of Franklin, CT · Town

Franklin’s 2014 ordinance adopts the 12-81g(b) three-times option for a veteran rated 100 percent disabled, and its assessor page says the office administers state and local exemption programs for veterans without printing an amount; OLR’s survey recorded no option.

  • 12-81g(b) three-times option, as Franklin’s 2014 ordinance adopts it: Three times the 12-81(20) exemption in lieu of 12-81g(a), at income limits of $21,000 married and $18,000 unmarried, effective with the 2014 grand list (read )
  • Exemption programs administered, as Franklin’s page prints it: The office administers various state and local tax exemption programs for veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities; the page prints no veteran amounts (read )

Wartime service or a VA rating, set by state law. The exemptions rest on C.G.S. 12-81(19) to (26): 90 days of wartime service with a qualifying discharge filed with the town clerk, or a VA disability rating. HousingTown of Franklin, MA · Town

Franklin’s Town Council adopted the HERO Act’s clause 22I cost-of-living increase in 2024, so the fiscal 2027 amounts are the statutes raised by both years’ adjustments: $423 under clause 22 to $1,585.17 under 22C and $1,057 under 22E; its taxpayer guide prints the statutes.

  • Clause 22I cost-of-living indexing, accepted: Adopted by the Town Council in 2024 per the town’s Veterans & Local Taxes page, no docket recorded (read )

Frederick County Disabled Veteran Real Estate Tax Exemption

HousingFrederick County, VA · County

Frederick County exempts the dwelling and up to one acre for a veteran rated 100% service-connected, permanent, and total, or rated total because of individual unemployability.

100% permanent and total. Frederick County applies the statewide exemption to the dwelling and up to one acre. Individual unemployability qualifies when VA rates it total because of a service-connected disability. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.

Frederick County Tax Relief for Permanent and Total Disability

HousingFrederick County, VA · County

Income-based real estate tax relief for a Frederick County household with a permanently and totally disabled spouse. Income includes tax-exempt income. This is separate from the 100% service-connected exemption.

Permanent and total disability. At least one spouse has to be permanently and totally disabled, or age 65. A first-time disabled applicant needs a VA or Social Security letter, or letters from two doctors. A 100% service-connected exemption is a different program.

Frederick County, Maryland, Partially Disabled Veteran Property Tax Credit

HousingFrederick County, MD · County

A credit of 25% of the county property tax at a rating of 50% to 74%, or 50% at 75% or more for a veteran not already fully exempt, with a $100,000 income limit the county has not updated. It continues for an unremarried surviving spouse. Apply every year by October 1.

At least 50% service-connected. The credit starts at a permanent service-connected rating of 50%: 25% of the county tax at 50% to 74%, and 50% at 75% or more for a veteran who is not already exempt under section 7-208. A nonpermanent 100% rating also qualifies. An income ceiling applies.

Any service-connected disability, or retired at 65. A service member or veteran with any VA service-connected rating qualifies, with no age test. A military retiree qualifies at 65 with no rating. The rating filter does not hide this credit.

Freetown Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

HousingTown of Freetown, MA · Town

Freetown’s assessors post no exemption amounts, so this entry gives the statute’s: $400 for a veteran rated 10 percent or more, $750 to $1,500 under 22A to 22C, $1,000 for a 100 percent rating, and full exemption under 22D and 22F.

Fremont County Assessor: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

HousingFremont County, CO · County

The Fremont County Assessor, Room 107, 615 Macon Avenue, Cañon City (719-276-7310), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption, 50% of the first $200,000 of the home's value, by July 1 (July 15 from 2027); its page still says unemployability does not qualify and points to the State for forms, but the current application it posts takes individual unemployability and goes to the Assessor.

100% permanent and total, or individual unemployability. A 100% permanent and total rating or individual unemployability status, separation under honorable conditions (C.R.S. 39-3-202), and the home owned and occupied since January 1.

Fulton County (Arkansas) Collector: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

HousingFulton County, AR · County

The Fulton County Collector, Michalle Watkins, in Salem ((870) 895-2457), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; her page says nothing about it, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.

100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.

Fulton County Board of Assessors: Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemption

HousingFulton County, GA · County

How Fulton County runs the State's disabled veteran homestead exemption, $126,526 for 2026. The county's 2026 guide calls it an exemption "from all ad valorem taxation" and names only 100% and unemployability, and its pages still give an April 1 deadline that Senate Bill 566 moved to the assessment appeal deadline for 2026.

100% service-connected. One path is a 100% rating. Statutory awards for loss of limbs or sight, and adapted housing eligibility, are other paths the filter does not test.

Gadsden County Property Appraiser: Veteran Exemptions

HousingGadsden County, FL · County

Gadsden County's Property Appraiser (16 South Calhoun Street, Quincy, 850-627-7168) takes exemption applications by March 1, but its exemptions page names only a total exemption for a "100 percent military service-related disability" and leaves out the $5,000 exemption for a 10% rating, and the combat discount form it posts is the 2012 version without the surviving spouse carryover.

10% for the $5,000 exemption; total and permanent for the full exemption. The $5,000 exemption starts at a 10% service-connected disability. The full exemption needs a service-connected total and permanent disability, including one paid at 100% through individual unemployability. The 65-plus discount equals the combat-related percentage.

Galveston Central Appraisal District: Disabled Veteran Exemptions

HousingGalveston County, TX · County

The Galveston Central Appraisal District states the 100% homestead exemption with unemployability, but asks a surviving spouse for a VA letter rating the veteran 100% at death, calls the line-of-duty spouse exemption one for a member "killed in action", has nothing on the 2025 presumptive-condition spouse exemption, and links a 2022 homestead form that predates it.

10% for the partial exemption; 100% or unemployable for the homestead. The partial exemption starts at 10%, and some routes need no percentage. The total homestead exemption needs 100% compensation with a 100% or unemployability rating. The surviving spouse exemptions need no rating.

Gardner Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

HousingCity of Gardner, MA · City

Gardner’s assessor posts the state’s generic clause 22 form and no amount of its own, so this entry gives the statute’s: $400 for a veteran rated 10 percent or more, and full exemption under 22D and 22F.

  • Clause 22, as Gardner publishes it: Listed without an amount (read )
  • Clauses 22, 22A, 22B, 22C and 22E, statutory: $400, $750, $1,250, $1,500 and $1,000 off the tax bill (read )

Garfield County (Oklahoma) Assessor: 100% Disabled Veteran Exemption and Homestead

HousingGarfield County, OK · County

The Garfield County Assessor, Darla Dickson, 114 West Broadway, Room 106, Enid (580-237-0220), takes the State's exemption of the whole home and household goods for a veteran rated 100% permanently disabled from service, and for the surviving spouse, with the VA's letter; the ordinary homestead application is due by March 15, and the office says an Oklahoma citizen stationed elsewhere may keep the homestead.

100% schedular rating, permanent. One path is a 100% combined rating that VA has made permanent.

Garfield County Assessor: Senior, Disabled Veterans, and Gold Star Spouse Exemptions

HousingGarfield County, CO · County

The Garfield County Assessor's exemption page administers the State's disabled-veteran exemption - 50 percent of the first $200,000 of actual value of the primary residence for a veteran rated 100 percent permanent and total, with individual unemployability treated equivalently, a VA Summary of Benefits letter required, and the 2026 application 'turned in by July 1, 2026' - beside the senior exemption it dates to July 15 and its own Gold Star Spouse section; the Senate Bill 26-046 deadlines make 2026 claims July 1 and 2027 claims July 15, and the page's two halves carry one deadline each.

100% permanent rating. One path is a 100 percent service-connected rating VA has made permanent.

Garland County Collector: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

HousingGarland County, AR · County

The disabled veteran homestead and personal property exemption is claimed at the Garland County Tax Collector, Rebecca Dodd Talbert, 200 Woodbine, Room 108, Hot Springs; the collector publishes tax dates but no exemption text.

100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.

Gaston County Tax Department: Disabled Veteran Exclusion

HousingGaston County, NC · County

How Gaston County describes the State's $45,000 disabled veteran homestead exclusion: one AV-9 application by June 1. Its page asks for an "honorably discharged" veteran rated 100% permanent and total, leaves out the adapted housing route, and describes the surviving spouse as the widow of any honorably discharged veteran.

Permanent and total service-connected disability. The rating path is VA's certification of a total and permanent service-connected disability. A section 2101 adapted housing grant qualifies instead, and an unremarried surviving spouse qualifies on the veteran's routes or a service-connected death; the rating filter cannot test those.

Geauga County Auditor: Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemption

HousingGeauga County, OH · County

The Geauga County Auditor, 231 Main Street, Suite 1A, Chardon (440-279-1617), takes the State's disabled veteran homestead credit on DTE 105I by December 31, but its homestead page describes only the age and disability credit; the Commissioners voted in November 2025 not to add House Bill 96's optional local homestead credit.

100 percent or paid at 100 percent for unemployability. A total disability rating, or compensation at 100% for individual unemployability, on January 1; discharged under honorable conditions.

Genesee County: the Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions the County Grants

HousingGenesee County, NY · County

For county taxes Genesee County grants the alternative veterans exemption (Real Property Tax Law 458-a, last amended by Local Law 3 of 2001) and the Cold War veterans exemption (458-b, Local Law 2 of 2018); applications run through the town and city assessors, and the agency's 2024 report counts 121 veterans' property tax exemptions completed.

A rating adds an exemption equal to half its percentage. No rating is needed for the wartime, combat or Cold War parts. A service-connected rating adds assessed value times half the rating; the county grants 458-a as last amended in 2001 and 458-b, and no 458-a(11) full exemption yet.

Georgetown County Auditor: Hazard-Duty Tax Extension and the DOR Veteran Exemption

HousingGeorgetown County, SC · County

Georgetown County extends the due date of property taxes for a service member on active duty, Guard included, in or near a hazard duty zone until 180 days after leaving it and waives the penalties and interest (Code section 16-2, applied through the Auditor); the Auditor's page sends the 100% disabled veteran's exemption to the Department of Revenue, which tells the county once it is granted.

Service members in or near a hazard duty zone; veterans with a DOR exemption. The extension needs active duty in or near a hazard duty zone, not a rating; the exemption is the State's.

Georgetown County: No Stormwater Fee for a Totally Disabled Veteran's Home

HousingGeorgetown County, SC · County

Georgetown County's code waives the stormwater utility fee (the county FAQ gives $52 a year for a single-family home) on the home of an owner who has the State's total property tax exemption as a totally disabled veteran, from the same tax year the exemption is granted (Code section 8-38.2(b)(6)).

  • Stormwater fee waived on the home (single-family, one ERU): $52 per year (read )

Total property tax exemption as a totally disabled veteran. The fee drops for a home granted the S.C. Code 12-37-220(B)(1) exemption (100% permanent and total, or the statute's functional total disability test).

Georgetown Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

HousingTown of Georgetown, MA · Town

Georgetown’s fiscal 2027 exemption sheet prints the veterans’ clauses as one range of $800.00 to a full tax exemption with no per-clause breakdown - the statutes doubled, what clause 22J at 100 per cent would produce at the bottom - naming no option, so this entry gives the statute’s and asks the assessors; its veterans’ services are the Eastern Essex District’s.

  • Clauses 22 to 22E, fiscal 2027, as Georgetown publishes them: A range of $800.00 to a full tax exemption, with no per-clause breakdown (read )
  • Clauses 22, 22A, 22B, 22C and 22E, statutory: $400, $750, $1,250, $1,500 and $1,000 off the tax bill (read )

Georgia Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemption

HousingGeorgia · State

An exemption of the greater of $32,500 or the current specially adapted housing grant maximum, on the home an honorably discharged disabled veteran owns and lives in. For fiscal year 2026 that federal maximum is $126,526. Value above the exemption stays taxable.

100% service-connected. The exemption is a dollar amount off the homestead, the greater of $32,500 or the current specially adapted housing grant maximum, not the entire tax bill. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is totally disabling.

Gibson County Trustee: Property Tax Relief for Disabled Veterans

HousingGibson County, TN · County

The Gibson County Trustee (Melissa Workman, 1 Courtsquare, Suite 102, Trenton, 731-855-7631) takes the state's disabled veteran property tax relief applications in person - its own eligibility table sets the $175,000 maximum market value for a disabled veteran homeowner or the widow(er) of one, requires a 100 percent rating whose disabilities are service-connected, combat-related or from five months as a prisoner of war, and sets no income limit on the veteran routes.

Totally and permanently disabled veteran, or the widow(er). The State statute sets the categories; the Trustee’s page names the $175,000 market value as published, requires the 100 percent rating with the service-connected, combat-related or POW criteria, and its $37,530 income figure belongs to the elderly and disabled homeowner routes. The rating filter never hides this entry.

Gila County Assessor: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

HousingGila County, AZ · County

The Gila County Assessor takes the State's veterans exemption from January 2 to March 1, first claims in person at Globe or Payson: a veteran rated 100% by the VA has the primary residence fully exempt, with no value limit. The page leaves out the smaller exemption for lower ratings, and the Board of Supervisors redeemed late claims from 100% veterans in April 2026.

Full at a 100% VA rating; scaled below it. A 100% rating fully exempts the primary residence for 2026 with no value limit. A lower rating gets $4,873 of assessed value times the rating, which the county page omits. Honorable discharge required.

Gloucester County Disabled Veteran Real Estate Tax Exemption, Ten Acres

HousingGloucester County, VA · County

Gloucester County exempts the home and up to ten acres of a veteran rated 100% service-connected, permanent, and total, against the statewide one acre. Its code lets a surviving spouse move; its page and form still do not.

100% permanent and total. Gloucester County applies the statewide exemption to the home and up to ten acres. It states the 100% service-connected, permanent, and total rating. It does not add an income test. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.

100% permanent and total. Goochland applies the statewide exemption to the parcel that is the primary residence. It accepts a disability compensated at the 100% rate. It does not add an income test. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.

Grand Forks County: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Credit intake

HousingGrand Forks County, ND · County

Grand Forks County takes the state disabled veteran property tax credit application through its Tax Equalization office and county auditor, with the April 1 deadline carried on the state form.

The credit follows the state gate: 50 percent or more, or the unemployability route. Section 57-02-08.8 requires a service-connected disability of fifty percent or greater, or an extra-schedular rating to include individual unemployability paid at the one hundred percent rate. The county intake applies the state rule.

Grand Traverse County's pages send disabled veterans to their township assessor for the State's full homestead exemption, but list only the 100% permanent and total and adapted-housing routes, leaving out individual unemployability, and the department's site still says to apply every year, which 2023 PA 150 ended from 2025.

100% permanent and total, adapted housing, or unemployability. The State test in 211.7b: 100% P&T, a specially adapted housing grant, or an individual unemployability rating; the county pages name only the first two.

HousingGrant County, AR · County

100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.

Grant County Assessor: Senior, Disabled and Disabled Veteran Exemption

HousingGrant County, WA · County

The Grant County Assessor's exemption page leaves the veteran route out and its 2026 release still says 80%; from 2027 a veteran rated 40% or more, or paid at the total rate, qualifies at any age, and Grant County's thresholds rise to $46,000, $53,000 and $61,000 with a $7,500 standard deduction a person.

40% service-connected, from taxes collected in 2027. RCW 84.36.381: a combined evaluation of 40% or more (80% for 2026 collections), or a total disability rating at any percentage; or age 61; plus the income test.

Grant County Auditor: the veterans deduction and credit filings

HousingGrant County, IN · County

Grant County's Auditor publishes no veteran route of its own; the county's 2026 record is the Commissioners' and Veterans Affairs Office's push on the new veterans property-tax deduction - extended office hours, a temporary employee and a $5,000 postcard mailing approved August 17, 2026 - while the State's Form 12662 deadline of January 15, 2027 governs.

10% or more for the credits. The $350 and $250 credits start at a 10% disability. The 100% deduction needs a total disability, which a VA pension certificate can also show, so the rating is recorded, not enforced.

HousingGrays Harbor County, WA · County

40% service-connected, from taxes collected in 2027. RCW 84.36.381: a combined evaluation of 40% or more (80% for 2026 collections), or a total disability rating at any percentage; or age 61; plus the income test.

Greene County (Arkansas) Collector: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

HousingGreene County, AR · County

The Greene County Tax Collector, Cindy Tracer, in the courthouse at 320 West Court Street, Paragould (870-239-6305), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; her page lists "dav exemptions information" among its services but prints no rules, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.

100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.

Greene County Auditor: Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemption

HousingGreene County, OH · County

Greene County's Auditor takes the State's disabled veteran homestead application, but its page still gives an earlier year's figures, $26,200 and $52,300, where 2026 real property is $29,700 and $59,400, and describes the veteran only as 100% service-disabled, leaving out unemployability.

100% service-connected. A total rating of 100% for service-connected disability, or compensation at 100% for individual unemployability.

Greene County Trustee: State Tax Relief for Disabled Veterans and Their Widows

HousingGreene County, TN · County

The Greene County Trustee, 401 Takoma Avenue, Suite 104, Greeneville (423-798-1705), takes applications for the State's property tax relief for disabled veteran homeowners and widow(er)s of disabled veterans from the first Monday in October through the end of the following March, and asks applicants to call first to learn what documents to bring.

Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The State relief the Greene County Trustee takes applications for. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.
