Greene County (Arkansas) Collector: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

The Greene County Tax Collector, Cindy Tracer, in the courthouse at 320 West Court Street, Paragould (870-239-6305), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; her page lists "dav exemptions information" among its services but prints no rules, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.

Also called: property tax, collector, DAV exemption, 26-3-306, homestead, personal property, Act 876, VA letter, Cindy Tracer, 870-239-6305, Amendment 79, Paragould, Marmaduke, Lafe, Delaplaine, Oak Grove Heights, Walcott, Light, Beech Grove.

For: Veteran or service member, child, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's, under section 26-3-306, as the Arkansas entry on the disabled veteran property tax exemption explains: no tax on the home, its land and personal property for a veteran VA rates 100% permanent and total or pays special monthly compensation for the loss or loss of use of a limb or blindness, carried on by an unremarried surviving spouse and minor children. Act 876 of 2025 added to section 26-3-306(b) that the VA letter "is required to be submitted only one (1) time" and that "annual submission of a letter from the department is not required", from the 2025 assessment year, so long as you tell the collector if you stop qualifying or move. File again for a new home. The county's pages. The Collector's page says the office "provides tax information to tax payers and title companies including amounts, value, mileage, property cards, dav exemptions information", with taxes due from the first working day in March and past due after October 15, but prints no exemption rules. Ask the Collector's office, or have the Veterans Service Office (870-565-1794) help with the VA letter. The Assessor's page explains that the Amendment 79 value freeze is open to "a veteran who is permanently and totally disabled as defined in 38 C.F.R. Party IV" as well as to owners 65 and older; a veteran on the DAV exemption pays no tax on the home, so the freeze matters only to one who does not take it. The office.
