Loading the county list.

Choose a level. State is what this state provides everywhere. A county or city page adds its own level. Federal is always last.

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Choosing Between the Three Kansas Property Tax Refunds

HousingKansas · State

A Kansas veteran may claim the homestead refund, the 79-4508a freeze, or SAFESR for a given year, but never more than one. The statute forbids stacking and the right answer depends on how long the house has been owned.

One program per property per tax year. Section 79-4508a(d) bars the freeze where the taxpayer has received the 79-4508 homestead refund or the 79-32,263 SAFESR credit for the same property for the same tax year.

Kansas Additional Personal Exemption for Disabled Veterans

MiscellaneousKansas · State

An extra $2,320 Kansas exemption from tax year 2025 for a veteran receiving compensation at the 100 percent rate for a permanent disability. It was $2,250 before, and the revisor still prints that figure under 79-32,121.

In receipt of compensation at the 100 percent rate. Certified by VA to be in receipt of disability compensation at the 100% rate. The phrase describes the rate paid rather than the schedular rating assigned.

Death & Survivor BenefitsKansas · State

County commissioners must decently inter a qualifying veteran, spouse or parent who dies without sufficient means, and may not do it in the pauper section. The named conflicts stop at Korea.

The section names the Spanish-American War, the Philippine insurrection, the expedition to China, World War I, World War II, and operations in Korea or other places under the flags of the United States and the United Nations or under the flag of the United States alone. It was last amended in 1957 and later conflicts rely on that catch-all.
