A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

City of Petersburg Disabled Veteran Real Estate Tax Exemption

HousingCity of Petersburg, VA · City

Petersburg’s Commissioner of the Revenue takes the statewide home exemption on the house and one acre for a veteran rated 100% service-connected, permanent, and total. Its 2020 application still requires a surviving spouse to stay in the same home.

100% permanent and total. Petersburg applies the statewide exemption to the house and up to one acre. It does not add an income test. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.
