Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Utah provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Iron County (Utah) Auditor: Veteran, Active Duty and Killed in Action Exemptions

HousingIron County, UT · County

The Iron County Auditor, 68 South 100 East, Parowan (435-477-8338), takes the State's veteran exemption by disability percentage (10% or more, filed once), the active duty exemption after 200 days of service outside Utah (filed each time, with orders) and the full exemption for the surviving spouse or minor child of a veteran killed in the line of duty, all due September 1; the forms it posts still cite the section numbers Utah replaced in 2025.

10% to 100% service-connected. The State exemption needs a service-connected rating of 10% or more and scales with it; the active duty and killed in action routes need no rating.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.

VetTOC has not written a veterans service office for Iron County yet. The state’s service offices below serve it.

Utah Rules on Who May Be Paid to Help With a VA Claim

Anyone offering to help a Utah veteran apply for VA benefits must be VA-accredited and must hand you a signed disclosure form, on a state-approved template, stating there is no charge for help with an initial application. Charging before a notice of disagreement is filed is prohibited, so are referral fees and guarantees, and the Division of Consumer Protection enforces it under the consumer sales practices act.
