Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what North Carolina provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Craven County Tax Department: Disabled Veteran Exclusion

HousingCraven County, NC · County

How Craven County runs the State's $45,000 disabled veteran homestead exclusion: a one-time AV-9 with the State's NCDVA-9 by June 1. The page prints the statute in full, but its own requirements ask for an honorably discharged veteran and describe the surviving spouse as the widow of any honorably discharged veteran, and its form links are labelled 2022 and 2024.

Permanent and total service-connected disability. The rating path is VA's certification of a total and permanent service-connected disability. A section 2101 adapted housing grant qualifies instead, and an unremarried surviving spouse qualifies on the veteran's routes or a service-connected death; the rating filter cannot test those.

MiscellaneousCraven County, NC · County

Craven County releases the vehicle property tax of an active-duty service member whose home of record is not North Carolina, on a current Leave and Earnings Statement, and of members living in exclusive federal jurisdiction on base. For spouses it still requires proof that the spouse kept the same domicile as the member, a test federal law dropped in January 2023.
