Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what North Carolina provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Chatham County Tax Administration: Disabled Veteran Exclusion and the Elderly or Disabled Exclusion

HousingChatham County, NC · County

Chatham County's Tax Administration takes applications for the State's disabled veteran exclusion, the first $45,000 of a permanent residence's appraised value for an honourably discharged disabled veteran or an unremarried surviving spouse, with the NCDVA-9 filed before June 1; the same page carries the elderly or disabled exclusion, the greater of $25,000 or 50% of appraised value with a $38,800 income limit.

Permanent and total service-connected disability. The $45,000 exclusion needs an NCDVA-9 certification of total and permanent service-connected disability. The rating filter leaves the test to the State entry.
