A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.

VetTOC has not written a veterans service office for Platte County yet. The state’s service offices below serve it.

    Missouri Veterans Service Officers

Commission staff may not accept or charge anything of value for helping a veteran, and doing so is a class A misdemeanour. The wider service officer network runs on matching grants from casino money rather than on a statutory officer in every county.
