Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Maryland provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Prince George's County Government Veteran Hiring Preference

Education & EmploymentPrince George's County, MD · County

On a county recruitment register, disabled veterans rated 30% or more are listed first and other veterans second within each score band. The veteran needs five years of Maryland residence. An unmarried surviving spouse gets the same preference.

Disabled veteran priority at 30%. A permanent, compensated service-connected disability of 30% or more puts a veteran in the first group. A veteran with no rating is in the second group, ahead of other applicants.

Prince George's County and the Disabled Veteran Exemption

HousingPrince George's County, MD · County

Prince George's has no disabled veteran credit of its own. It applies the state 100% exemption, still bills fees such as the solid waste charge, and its code limits the county refund to the current year and three before it.

100% permanent and total. The exemption and the refund follow a 100% permanent and total rating or a finding of permanent unemployability. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.
