Harford County

Street address

Start typing a street address. VetTOC reads only the county or town from it and opens its page.

Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Maryland provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

A voluntary District Court treatment program for a veteran charged with a misdemeanor or a concurrent-jurisdiction felony in Baltimore City or Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, or Howard County. VA eligibility is not required. It is not a disability benefit.

Justice-involved veteran. The court is for a veteran with a pending criminal case in the courts it serves who volunteers and is accepted. A disability rating is not the test.

Harford County Government Veteran Examination Credit

Education & EmploymentHarford County, MD · County

Five percent added to a county examination score for an eligible veteran, and 10% for a veteran with a service-connected disability or a Purple Heart, the spouse of a veteran VA finds unemployable, or the unmarried surviving spouse of a veteran who died of a service-connected disability. Military retirees on a pension are excluded.

Eligible veteran. Any service-connected rating raises the credit from 5% to 10%. A retiree on a military pension gets no credit. The rating filter does not hide this entry.

Harford County Senior Citizens and Veterans Tax Credit for Disabled Veterans

HousingHarford County, MD · County

A credit of 20% of the county and highway property tax, for up to 20 years, for a service member or veteran with a permanent service-connected disability, or the unremarried surviving spouse, where the home was assessed at $600,000 or less. The Treasurer asks for a rating of 50% or more, which the code does not.

Permanent 50% in the Treasurer’s rules. The Treasurer asks for a permanent service-connected rating of 50% or more. The code itself sets no minimum rating, so the rating filter does not hide this credit below 50%.
