Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Tift County Board of Commissioners: the 2023 vote that added Veterans Day to the county holiday calendar, with American Legion Post 21 in Tifton

MiscellaneousTift County, GA · County

The Tift County Board of Commissioners - Chairman Tony McBrayer, District 1 Donnie Hester, District 2 Melissa Hughes (Vice Chair), District 3 Paul Webb, District 4 Stan Stalnaker, District 5 Tyler Riddle and District 6 Greg Wood, with County Clerk Miriam Jordan, meeting in Room 207 of the Charles Kent Administration Building, 225 Tift Ave., Tifton (229-386-7850) - whose 2023-2026 record (201 agenda and minutes files, read whole, 98 scanned and converted by OCR) carries the county's own veterans record: the June 12, 2023 vote adding Veterans Day to the holiday calendar (Commissioner Paul Webb's motion, carried 4-3), the 2024 meeting-date moves off Election Day and Veterans Day, and the November 10, 2025 note that county offices would close "for the Veterans holiday"; American Legion Post 21 meets in Tifton.

No eligibility - a board record. The record documents the board’s posted 2023-2026 files and the county’s veterans organizations; it grants no individual entitlement.

Tift County Clerk of Superior Court (Clay Pate): the county’s recorder of military discharges

MiscellaneousTift County, GA · County

The Tift County Clerk of Superior Court - Clay Pate, 237 E. 2nd Street, Tifton (229-386-7810, [email protected], weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., P.O. Box 354) - is the county's recorder of military discharges under O.C.G.A. 15-6-72 and 15-6-78; the county's clerk page describes the office as filing "and recording real estate deeds as well as civil and criminal proceedings in Superior and State Court" and prints no discharge line, so the free recording and the 50-year closure rest on the State entries.

Any veteran with a discharge. The recording is free under O.C.G.A. 15-6-78 and the record is closed for fifty years under 15-6-72. No rating is needed.

Tift County Tax Commissioner (R. Chad Alexander): the April 1 exemption route, with the portal’s rundown unreadable

MiscellaneousTift County, GA · County

The Tift County Tax Commissioner - R. Chad Alexander, 225 Tift Avenue, Room 106, Tifton (229-386-7820, [email protected], weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., P.O. Box 930) - takes homestead applications year-round with an April 1 deadline (mobile home taxes due April 1; property taxes due November 15), and the county's own Property Tax FAQ prints no veteran amounts, so the State's veteran rows rest on the State entries; the commissioner's payment portal tiftcountypay.com answers a Cloudflare-style block to plain fetch (the gap goes to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md).

Qualifying disabled veteran or surviving spouse who owns and occupies the home. The exemption follows O.C.G.A. 48-5-48 and 48-5-52.1; the county offices take the application and the State entries carry the indexed amount. The rating filter never hides this entry.
