Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

MiscellaneousSumter County, GA · County

The Sumter County Clerk of Superior / State Court - Cortisa E. Barthell (elected 2017), Sumter County Courthouse, 500 West Lamar Street, P.O. Specific proof of disability from the Department of Veterans Affairs is required", and the surviving-spouse row requiring "appropriate documentation from the Department of Defense that spousal benefits are received as a result of the death of the Armed Forces member"; the Board of Tax Assessors' qPublic record-search site was not read, and the 2026 removal fight over the assessors' board is the governance backdrop (the gaps go to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md).

Qualifying disabled veteran or surviving spouse who owns and occupies the home. The exemption follows O.C.G.A. 48-5-48 and 48-5-52.1; the county’s own 2025 brochure prints $121,812 and the DoD/VA documentation lines. The rating filter never hides this entry.
