Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Rabun County Board of Commissioners (Chairman Greg James): the board’s record behind a Cloudflare block, read through Internet Archive captures, with American Legion Post 220 and VFW Post 4570 in Clayton

MiscellaneousRabun County, GA · County

The Rabun County Board of Commissioners - Chairman Greg James (706-490-1954), Vice-Chairman Scott Crane (706-490-1352), Will Nichols (District 1, at large), Tom Garrison (District 2) and Kent Woerner (District 4), with County Administrator Darrin Giles and HR Director and County Clerk Linda Ramey at 25 Courthouse Square, Suite 201, Clayton (706-782-5271), meeting the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Courthouse Courtroom - keeps its 2025-2026 agendas and minutes on the county's own meeting pages, which answer a Cloudflare-style block (403) to plain fetch; the Internet Archive's captures carry the meeting dates and rows but the files themselves did not render, so the board's year was not available to read; American Legion Post 220 and VFW Post 4570 sit in Clayton.

No eligibility - a board record. The record documents the board’s posted pages and the county’s organizations; it grants no individual entitlement.

Rabun County Clerk of Superior Court (Holly Henry-Perry): the county’s own duty line, “the clerk ... records business and trade names and military discharges”

MiscellaneousRabun County, GA · County

The Rabun County Clerk of Superior Court - Holly Henry-Perry, Rabun County Clerk of Court, 25 Courthouse Square, Suite 105, Clayton, GA 30525 (706-782-3615, fax 706-782-1391, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), with Chief Deputy Clerks Amie Alderman and Jessica Brown - is the county's recorder of military discharges: the county's own Superior Court page reads "the clerk is responsible for recording deeds and maintaining the chain of title to all property in the county. In addition, the clerk appoints notary publics and records business and trade names and military discharges", and the clerk's resources list carries a Veteran Discharge page; the county's site answers a Cloudflare-style block to plain fetch and was read through the Internet Archive's December 28, 2025 capture.

Any veteran with a discharge. The recording is free under O.C.G.A. 15-6-78 and the record is closed for fifty years under 15-6-72. No rating is needed.

Rabun County Tax Commissioner (Lauren Benfield): the April 1 homestead route with the State-set amounts

MiscellaneousRabun County, GA · County

The Rabun County Tax Commissioner - Lauren Benfield, 19 Jo Dotson Circle, Suite 101, Clayton, GA 30525 (706-782-3613, [email protected], Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., rabuncountytax.com) - and the Board of Tax Assessors (Chief Appraiser Erik Blalock, 19 Jo Dotson Circle, Suite 121, 706-782-5068) take the exemption applications; the tax office's own General Information page prints the April 1 deadline - "the filing deadline for homestead exemption is also April 1" - and the assessors' duty, "they accept and approve all Homestead Exemptions claimed by the Taxpayers of Rabun County", and publishes no exemption amounts of its own, so the O.C.G.A. 48-5-48 and 48-5-52.1 amounts ride on the State entries; the qPublic record-search site was not read (the gap goes to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md).

Qualifying disabled veteran or surviving spouse who owns and occupies the home. The exemption follows O.C.G.A. 48-5-48 and 48-5-52.1; the county offices take the application and post no amounts of their own. The rating filter never hides this entry.
