Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Georgia provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Floyd County Board of Assessors: Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemptions

HousingFloyd County, GA · County

How the Floyd County Board of Assessors takes Georgia's disabled veteran exemptions: the Qualified Disabled Veteran Exemption for a veteran rated 100 percent service connected and for the unremarried surviving spouse of a disabled veteran or of a service member killed in action, applied for with the homestead application by April 1 of the year after the home becomes the primary residence, with a VA letter defining the veteran's condition.

100 percent service-connected disability. The county’s veteran exemption section requires adjudication as totally and permanently disabled with entitlement to 100 percent service-connected benefits; the State entries carry the rating tiers.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.
