Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Wisconsin provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Fond du Lac County Veterans Services and the Veterans Commission Assistance Fund

MiscellaneousFond du Lac County, WI · County

Fond du Lac County’s three-line CVSO office on South Macy Street - led by a twenty-two-year Marine with a therapy dog on staff - runs free county vans to six VA facilities and a levy-funded Veterans Commission Assistance Fund needing an honorable discharge and ninety days of residency.

Any veteran or family member. The office assists Fond du Lac County veterans and their families with claims, county aid and VA transportation. No rating is required, so the rating filter never hides this benefit.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.
