A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Davis County Tax Administration: Veteran with a Disability Exemption

HousingDavis County, UT · County

Davis County's Tax Administration takes the State's veteran exemption - a service-connected rating of 10% to 100% on the primary residence, with the VA Summary of Benefits letter for first-time filers - by September 1, 2026, with the County Commission able to extend a late claim to December 31 on a late form for good cause; the office answers at 801-451-3331.

10% to 100% service-connected. The county takes the State exemption for a service-connected rating from 10% to 100%; the benefit scales by the bands in the Utah entry.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.

VetTOC has not written a veterans service office for Davis County yet. The state’s service offices below serve it.

Utah Rules on Who May Be Paid to Help With a VA Claim

Anyone offering to help a Utah veteran apply for VA benefits must be VA-accredited and must hand you a signed disclosure form, on a state-approved template, stating there is no charge for help with an initial application. Charging before a notice of disagreement is filed is prohibited, so are referral fees and guarantees, and the Division of Consumer Protection enforces it under the consumer sales practices act.
