Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Nebraska provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Dodge County Veterans Service Office

MiscellaneousDodge County, NE · County

Dodge County’s Veterans Service Office in the Fremont courthouse, under Veterans Service Officer Mark Schneck, helps veterans, widows and families with federal, state and county benefits under section 80-407; the Board signed it onto the State’s VetraSpec claims database in November 2025 and renewed the licence through Tyler Technologies in September 2026.

Any Dodge County veteran, widow or family member. Free help with federal, state and county veterans benefits; no rating is required, so the rating filter never hides this entry.

Dodge County Veterans’ Aid Fund

MiscellaneousDodge County, NE · County

Dodge County funds its section 80-102 veterans’ aid from inheritance tax rather than property tax: the adopted 2025-2026 budget moves $10,320 from the Inheritance fund into the Veterans’ Aid fund "to avoid property taxes on a small fund", and the county keeps a $12,000 Veterans’ Aid petty cash account so the committee can pay without waiting for the Board.

Veteran, spouse, surviving spouse or minor child in need. Section 80-102: honorable or general (under honorable conditions) service, one year in Nebraska and six months in Dodge County, and need the committee assesses. No rating is required.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.

Every county runs its own veterans relief fund off a dedicated levy, decided locally by the county veterans service committee. A refusal from the state fund is not a refusal from this one.
