A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Vermilion Parish Assessor: Where the Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemptions Are Filed

HousingVermilion Parish, LA · County

The Vermilion Parish Assessor (Gabe Marceaux, Courthouse, 100 N. State St., Suite 110, Abbeville; 337-893-2837, [email protected]) is where Vermilion homeowners file the State’s disabled veteran homestead exemptions and the veterans’ assessment freeze, but its site publishes none of them: its FAQ describes the freeze for owners 65 and over only.

50% or more for the State tiers and freeze. The State tiers start at a 50% service-connected rating, with the whole remaining assessed value exempt at 100% or unemployability; the freeze needs 50% or more and an income test. The Assessor’s site states none of this.
