Sharon’s exemptions page describes the wartime, additional and dwelling programs without printing a veteran amount, and OLR’s survey recorded a $20,000 wartime option at the state’s income limits.
Wartime service or a VA rating, set by state law. The exemptions rest on C.G.S. 12-81(19) to (26): 90 days of wartime service with a qualifying discharge filed with the town clerk, or a VA disability rating. Amounts above the base turn on rating and income. The rating filter does not hide this entry.
Sharon’s assessors post a clause 22 requirements letter with no amount and no acceptance named, so this entry gives the statute’s; its Veterans Service Office is the town’s own chapter 115 administrator, and its Elder Services work-off takes veterans of any age for up to $2,000 a year.
A VA rating, a decoration, or a surviving relative. Clause 22 reaches a veteran rated 10 percent or more, a Purple Heart recipient, a Gold Star parent and the spouse or unmarried surviving spouse; 22A to 22E turn on named losses, decorations, a 100 percent rating or specially adapted housing. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.
The Sharp County Collector, Michelle Daggett, at the courthouse, 718 Ash Flat Drive, Ash Flat ((870) 994-7334), takes the State's disabled veteran exemption on the home and personal property; her pages say nothing about it, and since Act 876 of 2025 the VA letter is a one-time filing.
100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.
The Shasta County Assessor-Recorder's exemptions page describes the exemption more narrowly than the statute, as for a veteran "rated 100% disabled, blind, or a paraplegic". The county's own handout carries the full test, but its amounts stop at the 2025 lien date and it does not mention the 2027 change.
100% or compensated at 100% for unemployability. The State exemption needs a 100% rating, permanent or not, compensation at 100% for unemployability, blindness in both eyes, or loss of the use of two or more limbs.
Shelby County adds its own money to the state disabled veteran tax relief, matching the state payment dollar for dollar up to the county tax bill. For 2026 the state maximum on county taxes is $1,182.30, so a qualifying veteran can receive up to about $2,364.60 against the county bill. Apply to the Trustee by April 5, 2027; City of Memphis taxes have a separate October 6, 2026 deadline.
Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The match goes only to a homeowner already approved for the state relief. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.
Shelby County takes the State homestead and disability exemption claims at its Property Tax Office in Columbiana; a live read of the county site found no exemption page of its own and a bare record-search portal in place of a revenue site.
Permanently and totally disabled, or 65 with income within the limits. Shelby County administers the State exemption. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.
Shelton’s assessor gives wartime veterans and veterans with a VA rating the exemption on a discharge filed by September 30, its Code § 15-2 adds $1,000 for a limited-income veteran under 12-81f, and § 15-2.1 exempts a specially equipped vehicle.
Shenandoah County’s Commissioner of the Revenue in Woodstock takes the statewide home exemption, on the house and one acre, for a veteran rated 100% permanent and total. The county publishes no form for it, calls the line-of-duty spouse exemption one for spouses of “veterans killed in action”, and sets no reduced rate for the disabled veteran vehicle class its code creates.
100% permanent and total. Shenandoah County applies the statewide exemption to the house and up to one acre. It does not add an income test. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.
Shenandoah County relieves 20% to 100% of real estate tax on the home and one acre, up to $1,500, for a permanently and totally disabled owner with household income up to $40,000 and net worth up to $150,000, or defers the whole tax instead. A VA certification of disability is accepted.
Permanent and total disability. The owner is permanently and totally disabled and unable to work, or 65. VA, Social Security, the Railroad Retirement Board, or two doctors can certify it. A VA rating alone is not the test.
The Sheridan County Assessor's Tax Relief: Veterans Exemption page administers Wyoming's veteran property tax exemption - the page still prints the $3,000 of assessed value Senate File 89 of 2024 doubled to $6,000 for 2025, with an 'approximate amount $214.00' on property tax, or a $3,000 reduction of county vehicle fees 'not to exceed a total of $90.00 per year' - and reproduces W.S. 39-13-105 whole; each veteran must appear in person between January 1 and the fourth Monday in May.
Wartime or campaign service, or a compensable service-connected disability. The county administers the State exemption; the qualification tests are the statute’s, printed on the page. No rating is needed for the disabled-veteran path beyond the VA certification.
Sherman’s assessor page offers a town additional tax credit for veterans at income up to $52,700 single or $58,900 married and a town additional tax credit for disabled veterans at $64,400 and $128,000; neither carries an amount.
Shiawassee County's Veterans Affairs Committee grants emergency help from the Veterans Relief Fund (wartime service) and a county Peacetime Veterans Fund (24 months of peacetime service) to indigent county veterans and dependents under the VA's income thresholds; in 2025-26 it paid roofs, furnaces, mortgage and rent arrears, utility shut-offs, vehicle repairs and food and gas cards.
Under the VA income thresholds. Household income at or below the VA geographic income thresholds for the year, county residence, and an emergency the grant will resolve. No rating is needed.
Shirley’s assessors’ own fiscal 2027 statutory exemptions sheet prints the veterans’ clauses as one range, "$400.00 to a full tax exemption depending upon the disability and qualifying clause", with no option adopted, so this entry gives the statute’s; its Veteran’s Services is the town’s own, Mike Detillion the Veteran’s Agent, where the EOVS directory’s row gives the Ayer office’s phone.
Shrewsbury’s exemption table gives the disabled-veteran clauses $400 to $1,000, the statute’s range, creditable up to double where the net tax paid does not fall below the prior year’s, and records a veterans’ tax work-off of up to 125 hours at minimum wage.
Simsbury’s property tax relief pamphlet gives a $1,500 basic veterans’ exemption, doubles it for income up to $56,500 married or $46,300 single, and takes a local option of 10 percent of assessment for income up to $81,500 married or $71,300 single.
The Skagit County Assessor's page already gives the 2027 rules: a veteran rated 40% or more, or paid at the 100% rate, qualifies at any age with combined disposable income of $78,000 or less, in three tiers ($58,000, $68,000, $78,000), with VA compensation, DIC and from 2027 Combat-Related Special Compensation left out of income. No deadline; up to three prior years.
40% service-connected, from taxes collected in 2027. RCW 84.36.381: a combined evaluation of 40% or more (80% for 2026 collections), or a total disability rating at any percentage; or age 61; plus the income test.
The Smith County Appraisal District restates both disabled veteran exemptions - the 100% homestead for a 100%-rated or unemployable veteran and the partial exemption's $5,000-to-$12,000 rating chart - takes applications through the Comptroller's 50-114 and 50-135 forms, and lists what each taxing unit in the county has separately adopted for the ordinary homestead, over-65 and disability exemptions.
10% for the partial exemption; 100% or unemployable for the homestead. The partial exemption starts at a 10% rating. The total homestead exemption needs 100% compensation with a 100% or unemployability rating. The surviving spouse exemptions need no rating.
Smithfield’s veterans’ property tax exemptions under R.I. Gen. Laws 44-3-4, with the statutory figures for Smithfield and the day each was read. Confirm the current amount with the assessor.
Service and discharge set by state law. A veteran of a war, conflict or Cold War service period named in 44-3-4 or 44-3-4.2, honorably discharged, discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, or still serving honorably; or the unmarried widow or widower. No disability rating is needed for the basic exemption, so the rating filter never hides this entry.
Smyth County’s Commissioner of the Revenue takes the statewide home exemption on a sworn application requiring the VA Summary of Benefits, accepting a disability paid at the 100% rate for unemployability, on the primary dwelling and up to one acre with ancillary buildings excluded.
100% permanent and total. Smyth applies the statewide exemption to the primary dwelling and up to one acre, with ancillary buildings excluded. Age 65 or totally and permanently disabled. The applicant is 65 or older, or totally and permanently disabled with a certificate. A VA rating alone is not the test.
The Snohomish County Assessor posts the 2027 to 2029 income thresholds ($68,000, $79,000 and $91,000) but explains eligibility only through a State brochure of December 2024 that still gives the veteran route as an 80% evaluation or the 100% rate. For taxes collected from 2027 the floor is 40%, and a total rating for unemployability counts at any percentage.
40% service-connected, from taxes collected in 2027. RCW 84.36.381: a combined evaluation of 40% or more (80% for 2026 collections), or a total disability rating at any percentage; or age 61; plus the income test.
The Solano County Assessor states the disabled veterans' exemption's tests accurately, unemployability and a discharge other than dishonorable included, but still prints the 2023 figures ($161,083 and $241,627 under a $72,335 income limit). For 2026 they are $180,671 and $271,009 under $81,131.

Somerset posts the state’s generic veteran exemption form and no amount of its own, so this entry gives the statute’s: $400 for a veteran rated 10 percent or more, and full exemption under 22D and 22F.
Somerville’s fiscal 2027 veterans’ exemption instructions print the statute raised by the fiscal 2027 adjustment of 2.7 per cent alone: $411 under clause 22, $770, $1,284 and $1,541 under 22A to 22C, and $1,027 under 22E.

The Sonoma County Assessor reads 'other than dishonorable' literally, accepting an other than honorable or bad conduct discharge for the disabled veterans' exemption, takes unemployability, and gives a written preliminary eligibility determination. It prints no current figures and does not mention the 2027 change.
100% or compensated at 100% for unemployability. The State exemption needs a 100% rating, permanent or not, compensation at 100% for unemployability, blindness in both eyes, or loss of the use of two or more limbs.
The house and its lot are exempt from all property tax. The test is not a rating percentage: the statute defines permanently and totally disabled as the inability to perform substantial gainful employment. Since 2024 the exemption runs for the whole year in which the disability occurs, and a surviving spouse can carry it to a house bought later.
Permanently and totally disabled from a service-connected disability. Section 12-37-220(B)(1)(f)(i)(A). Subitem (f)(ii) defines the term functionally as the inability to perform substantial gainful employment by reason of a medically determinable impairment lasting or expected to last twelve months or more, or to result in death. It names no rating percentage.
A Medal of Honor recipient or a former prisoner of war is exempt on the dwelling and one acre, and on two vehicles. The conflict list for the POW exemptions still ends at Vietnam, so a POW of any later conflict is outside them.
Medal of Honor, any conflict and any date. Item (B)(43) reaches a Medal of Honor recipient "regardless of when it was awarded or the conflict involved". Item (B)(26) exempts two private passenger vehicles with no surviving spouse clause.
Two private passenger vehicles are exempt from property tax. The statute conditions the exemption on plates issued under sections repealed in 2022, which leaves the certificate filed with the DMV as the only route whose statutory basis still exists.
Total and permanent disability, certified to the DMV. Section 12-37-220(B)(3) requires either the special plate or a certificate signed by the county service officer or VA "of the total and permanent disability" filed with the Department of Motor Vehicles. The plate route points at Sections 56-3-1110 to 56-3-1130, repealed effective May 6, 2022.

As between equally needy and equally eligible applicants, a municipal or county housing authority must prefer the family of a service member or veteran, and one admission condition is waived for them.
A tie-breaker between equally placed applicants. The preference applies as between applicants equally in need and eligible for occupancy at the rent involved. It does not move a veteran ahead of a needier applicant.
A wheelchair home owned and occupied by a paraplegic veteran, a veteran with loss or loss of use of both lower extremities, or the unremarried widow or widower, is exempt from property tax entirely. No rating percentage appears anywhere in it.
A mobility finding, not a rating. The veteran must be paraplegic or have the loss or loss of use of both lower extremities. No combined rating percentage appears in 10-4-24.9 or 10-4-24.10, so a rating filter cannot decide this entry either way.
A separate income-scaled reduction of 25 to 100 percent of the tax on a single-family dwelling owned and occupied by a paraplegic. It is not a veterans program, and a veteran who does not live in a purpose-built wheelchair home may reach it when the exemption is out of range.
A mobility finding and no service requirement. The dwelling must be owned and occupied by a paraplegic or an individual with the loss or loss of use of both lower extremities. Military service is not part of the test, which is what makes this reachable when 10-4-24.10 is not.

Clause 22 reaches a veteran rated 10 percent or more, a Purple Heart recipient, a Gold Star parent and the spouse or unmarried surviving spouse; 22A to 22E turn on named losses, decorations, a 100 percent rating or specially adapted housing. Age 65, disabled, or blind homestead owners. The homestead exemption needs age 65, or total and permanent disability as declared by the qualifying agency, or legal blindness. The rating filter cannot test these paths.

Qualifying severe disability. A specific service-connected loss, loss of use, blindness, burn or other listed condition. A combined percentage alone does not qualify.
