A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Putnam County Trustee: State Tax Relief for Disabled Veterans and Their Widow(er)s

HousingPutnam County, TN · County

The Putnam County Trustee, 300 East Spring Street, Room 2, Cookeville, takes the State's property tax relief applications for disabled veteran homeowners and unremarried widow(er)s on forms F-16 and F-16S from October; city residents may also apply at Algood, Baxter, Cookeville or Monterey city hall. The page names no county match.

Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The State relief the Putnam County Trustee takes applications for. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.

Honorably discharged, 65 or older, disabled or retired. The veteran has to be 65 or older, honorably discharged, and either disabled or retired from the uniformed services, reserves, or Guard. The code sets no minimum rating, so the rating filter does not hide this credit.

100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.

Rhode Island Prisoner of War Property Tax Exemption

HousingRhode Island · State

A further $15,000 exemption, by town ordinance, for a veteran VA has classified as a prisoner of war and for the unmarried widow or widower. Westerly runs to $68,000. No disability rating is involved.

A VA prisoner of war classification. The gate is classification or determination as a prisoner of war by VA. There is no disability rating and no minimum length of captivity, so the rating filter never hides this benefit.

Rhode Island Specially Adapted Housing Property Tax Exemption

HousingRhode Island · State

Two different exemptions for a VA specially adapted housing grant. One gives $10,000 of value. The other exempts the homestead from all taxation, and the difference between them is whether the total disability is also permanent.

A VA specially adapted housing grant. Both exemptions require that the veteran received assistance from VA in acquiring specially adapted housing. Subsection (i) also reaches a homestead acquired or modified with the proceeds of selling a previous grant-assisted homestead. No combined rating percentage appears, so the rating filter does not hide this benefit.

Rhode Island Totally Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

HousingRhode Island · State

A further $10,000 exemption for a veteran VA-determined totally disabled through a service-connected disability, but only where the city or town has passed an ordinance. Cranston runs to $250,000 of value; a town that has adopted nothing gives none of it.

VA-determined total disability through service connection. The gate is a VA determination under applicable federal law that the veteran is totally disabled through a service-connected disability. The section names no percentage and does not address individual unemployability, and separate town provisions in Bristol, Warren, Barrington and Warwick reach partial disability, so the rating filter does not hide this benefit.

Rhode Island Veterans Property Tax Exemption

HousingRhode Island · State

A statutory $1,000 exemption, and a further $1,000 for a totally disabled veteran, which roughly three dozen cities and towns replace with their own figure, from a $182.90 tax credit to $40,500 of value. Cold War service with no war or conflict qualifies.

Wartime or Cold War service, including peacetime. The section covers the named wars and conflicts, service in uniform during the Cold War between 1947 and 1991 including members who did not serve in a declared war or conflict, and service in any conflict or undeclared war. No disability rating is required, so the rating filter never hides this benefit.

Rhode Island Veterans Transitional Supportive Program for Homeless Veterans

HousingRhode Island · State

Domiciliary care for homeless veterans at the Bristol home at a maintenance fee of 10 percent of monthly gross income instead of the usual 80 percent of net, with extended beds at 30 percent for up to four months.

Ten percent of monthly gross income, or thirty percent for an extended bed. A veteran in the program pays ten percent of monthly gross income from whatever source derived, taxable or not, in place of the ordinary eighty percent of net income fee. Extended V.T.S.P. beds carry thirty percent and may not be occupied for more than four months.

Richland County Auditor: Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemption

HousingRichland County, OH · County

The Auditor takes the State's disabled veteran homestead application, DTE 105I, but Richland County publishes no homestead page at all - richlandcountyauditor.org and .com are a law firm's page and a parked domain - so the reduction is the State's own, $59,400 for tax year 2026; whether the commissioners adopted the 319.304 local option cannot be checked, because the board publishes no minutes.

100% service-connected. A total rating of 100% for service-connected disability, or compensation at 100% for individual unemployability.

Richmond County (Augusta): Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemption

HousingRichmond County, GA · County

The Tax Commissioner's chart and summary require a VA letter stating a 100 percent service-connected rating and print an April 1 deadline the county's own pages and Senate Bill 566 have moved, and its surviving-spouse row describes two different exemptions.

100% service-connected. One path is a 100% rating, which the county asks for. Statutory awards for loss of limbs or sight, and adapted housing eligibility, are other paths the filter does not test.

Ridgefield Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions

HousingTown of Ridgefield, CT · Town

Ridgefield’s assessor page prints no veterans’ amounts. OLR’s 2023 survey records a $10,000 local wartime additional exemption at Ridgefield’s own income limits of $50,000 and $45,000, the 12-81g(b) option, and the 12-81kk primary-residence exemption.

Amounts above the base turn on rating and income. The rating filter does not hide this entry.

Riverside County Assessor: Disabled Veterans' Exemption

HousingRiverside County, CA · County

The Riverside County Assessor's pages describe the disabled veterans' exemption more narrowly than the statute: a March 2026 release says it generally needs a 100% permanent and total rating, the exemption page says "up to $150,000" and "paraplegic", and neither mentions unemployability. Section 205.5 needs no permanence, reaches compensation at 100% for unemployability, and is worth $180,671 or $271,009 for 2026.

100% or compensated at 100% for unemployability. The State exemption needs a 100% rating, permanent or not, compensation at 100% for unemployability, blindness in both eyes, or loss of the use of two or more limbs.

Roane County (Tennessee) Trustee: State Tax Relief and the Tax Freeze

HousingRoane County, TN · County

The Roane County Trustee, Chris Mason, at the courthouse, 200 E. Race Street, Suite 4, Kingston (865-376-4938), takes the paperwork for the State's property tax relief - for veterans with certain service-connected disabilities, spouses of veterans killed in action, homeowners 65 or older or 100% disabled - and for the property tax freeze; the State makes the final determination.

Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The State relief the Roane County Trustee takes the paperwork for.

Robertson County Trustee: State Tax Relief for Disabled Veterans, with a County Match

HousingRobertson County, TN · County

Robertson County adds its own money to the State's property tax relief for disabled veteran homeowners and their widow(er)s: for 2026 taxes the State pays up to $726 and the county $139, up to $865 in all, with no income limit; apply to the Trustee from October 2026 to April 5, 2027 (615-384-4238).

Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The county match goes only to a disabled veteran or widow(er) the State approves for its relief.

100% permanent and total. Rockbridge applies the exemption to the dwelling and up to two acres, its own widening of the statutory one. It accepts a disability compensated at the 100% rate; the county forms do not mention it, and the Department of Veterans Services treats that rating as qualifying. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.

HousingTown of Roxbury, CT · Town

Russell County Revenue Commissioner: Disability Exemption and Homestead

HousingRussell County, AL · County

Russell County's Revenue Commissioner, Natalie Kirkland, takes the State's homestead and disability exemption claims at 1000 Broad Street, Phenix City, weekdays 8 to 5 ET; the county publishes no exemption text of its own, so the routes are the State's sections 40-9-19 and 40-9-21.

Permanent and total disability. The claims rest on the State sections; the Department of Revenue certificate of permanent and total disability is the proof route the State entry carries.

Rutherford County Tax Administrator: Disabled Veterans Exclusion

HousingRutherford County, NC · County

Rutherford County's Revenue Department takes applications for the State's disabled veteran exclusion, for an honourably discharged veteran whose service-connected disability VA certifies as 100% permanently and totally disabling, or the unremarried surviving spouse; no age or income limit, a one-time application on form NCDVA-9, filed by June 1.

Permanent and total service-connected disability. The rating path is a total and permanent service-connected disability. A section 2101 adapted housing grant qualifies instead; the filter cannot test that.

Rutherford County Trustee: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Relief

HousingRutherford County, TN · County

Rutherford County's Trustee lists all three routes to the state's disabled veteran tax relief correctly, but says taxes must be paid by the application deadline, which state law says is not a condition, and describes the deployment route for surviving spouses as combat operations only.

Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The state relief the Trustee administers.
